Lighting up My Shadowy Life

Very sudden plot twist

As we entered the tower Shadow made a shushing motion and pushed me against a wall looking panicked, "What is-" my question was muffled as Shadow covered my mouth with his hand. He looked afraid of something, listening I heard two voices talking and coming closer. I now knew why he was scared the was the actual Vaati whom wreaked so much havoc in the past, and it sounded like Dark was with him.

"You know I just want to see him, is that too much for his father to ask of him Dark?"

"No sir," Dark responded, "I just think that he's avoiding the truth while he still can. After all he can't keep denying it forever sir it's almost his time to show his true potential."

"True that is," laughed the man, "Besides he can't keep those two in the dark forever. They'll learn the truth soon enough; So how was (Y/n) when you last saw her?" I gave Shadow a panicked look as I was brought into their conversation, he hugged my reassuringly letting me know that he wasn't about to let them have me just yet. I hugged him back as we continued to listen in our panicked silence.

"Well....." Dark trailed off.

"Dark answer me now did that puny girl get the better of you a demonic spawn of the Hero of Time!?! Whom traveled through time just to accomplish his destiny!?" The man yelled at the top of his lungs, "You know how I hate waiting, ANSWER ME NOW DARK." I saw a pale purple cape flutter around the corner, "Oh my dear goddesses, what do we have the goddesses blessed us with?" The man before us looked like Vaati only taller and I could see both eyes he was literally grinning from ear to pointy ear. Behind him Dark was grinning like a child in a candy store, it was the that I realized my mask was off and I didn't know where I'd lost it, one of the few gifts my father'd left me was now gone.

"Oh shit." I whispered looking at Shadow for a suggestion of what to do. He was as lost as I was for a plan of what to do.

"Hey (Y/n)," Dark walked towards me slowly, "So it was you before after all, I didn't think that you could look even more beautiful, but now I find my own thoughts contradicted by my own mind," he tried to place a hand on my shoulder in a romantic fashion but I instinctively punched him in the face out of defense, "OH SHIT MY NOSE!"

"Dark don't frighten the girl she may be of value to our causes," Vaati's father from what I guessed told Dark smirking, "After all she's just an innocent girl trying to protect herself from a strange man." his laugh reminded me of the shrieks a burning Re-dead made as it died for most-likely the last time.

"I know but-" Dark was holding a hand over his now bleeding nose looking panicked. Me and Shadow both held in our laughter despite me getting after Shadow for doing just this before we went inside; how could we not though he looked like a small animal at it's master's feet, harmless as any lameass douchebag could be.

"NO BUTS DARK! NOW LET'S GRAB THE GIRL AND GO LEAVE THE BOY WE NEED AT LEAST SOME LEVERAGE OVER THEM!" This creature yelled pointing at me specifically.

Unlike Dark this strange man didn't scare me, "I wont go without a fight!" I squatted down my right fist clenched, and my left ready to grab a kunai at a seconds notice. Dark held in a giggle as he looked at me. "You heard me Dark, now didn't you asshole! I won't go down with out a good fight, and I wont be playing around this time!"

"(Y/n)!" Shadow grabbed my arm causing my focus to be broken as he was nervously looking at Vaati's father, {(a/n)- comment what you guys think he should be nick-named, because he's also named Vaati and that's confusing if you know what I mean. he will be called Vaati's Father until a nick-name is decided of course}, "Don't....He's a dangerous opponent even for you when your.....angry. Please don't try and fight him he could kill you with out a second thought!"

"So this young lady is (Y/n) (L/n) daughter of the former Shadow temple gaurdians?" Vaati's father walked towards us his cape fluttering silently around his feet, "Is this the reason you didn't bring her back last time Dark? All because she fights back unlike other girls in Hyrule, how pitiful Dark and Shadow how nice it is to see you again, young man please do tell where you've been these long years?" he caressed my cheek with his bony hand sending shivers down my spine, frozen in fear there was nothing that I could do to move out of the way or do as I'd done to Dark. "Oh how beautiful you grew up to be (Y/n) I remember when you were but only a child ah-"

Shadow cut him off by slapping his hand away, breaking me from my trance like fear that had been holding me in place. "KEEP YOUR FILTHY PAWS OFF MY GIRL YOU BASTARD! STAY AWAY FROM-"

I'd never seen him be so protective before over anything, and he was protective over his food when I tried to share it with him. I interrupted him to make it clear that I wasn't unable to protect myself, "Shadow please we've been over this I can handle it."

Ignoring my pleas for him to stop he yelled, "YOU AREN'T GOING TO GET CLOSE TO HER NOT WITH OUT TAKING ME OUT FIRST!"

Shadow's eagerness to protect me got me to become somewhat irritated, "We've been over this, I am perfectly able to protect myself it's what has kept me going for so long." I moved in front of him, "Besides I've always lived a life with high consequence, not just because I'm a Sheikah, but also because I have no had no one else until recently when I met you two and became friends with Bethany."

"(Y/n)?" Dark put a hand gently on my shoulder earning another punch to the face but harder this time, "Why are you such a damn violent bitch? I think you actually broke my nose that time" he whimpered holding his nose that looked out of place, Shadow laughed at this of course I didn't bother to stop him.

"Don't touch me asshole, and it's your fault if it's broken." I snarled violently eyeing over my shoulder at him. During this time Vaati's father just watched with an amused expression the entire time.

"Ah," Vaati's father sighed, "Quite a rarity in these times to find a pretty girl who can fight for herself."

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" Vaati was here now and looked pissed off as hell, "SHE'S NOT HERE FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT FATHER!" His face became bitter when he said father; he looked at me for a short moment and smiled an actual smile then returned to glaring at his father, "If you want her you'll have to get through me first!" In his hand was clutched my mask, I now under stood why he was so angry at the moment. He'd found the mask and thought that we'd been captured before he could meet up with us the dork.
