Upon entering the area I saw what would look like another endless abyss with no way across to most people, but I knew better. Cautiously I hoped onto the invisible platforms that spanned across the gap and lead to the door that I needed. Once at the door I allowed myself to take a short rest, "After I this do this I promise to come get you fire eyes. Even if it leaves me bloody and broken I will get you back." From behind me I heard a quiet but duly notable applause. Reflexively I leapt up grabbing a kunai and said, "Who's there!?!" As I looked around frantically but I couldn't find anyone, not with how dark it was in here. Slowly I backed up towards the door keeping a death tight grip on the kunai in my hand, ready to attack with it if i had to.
Then I felt myself bump into some thing soft...? After a moment I was filled with unease as a pair on unfamiliar hands were placed on my bare shoulders. It was then that I heard that damned smug voice and knew who it was I'd bumped into, "Hey (Y/n), what're you doing in a place like this? I don't think it suits you too well."
Removing his hands from my shoulders I retorted, "I could ask the same of you. This is a temple Dark, not a place to play." Allowing my eyes to adjust better to the darkness1 of the area, I noticed that he was alone. "Where's Shadow?" I snarled preparing for a fight.
From what I could tell he smiled after laughing, "Speaking with the boss. And (Y/n) what's wrong with using this temple as a playground." I glowered at him before silently walking around him. "Where ya' going (Y/n), there's nothing but a giant hole in the floor in there darling."
Turning towards Dark with my kunai level where I belived his face I was, I growled in a threatening manner, "Don't you dare call me darling. Or I swear the the goddess that I'll carve out your tongue." I then slammed the door closed in his face.
Dark's P.O.V
I watched in a somewhat silent shock as (Y/n)'d slammed the door in my face, never in my existence before had a woman ever threatened me in such a manner. Smiling to myself I muttered barely loud enough to hear, "Your feisty nature is one of my favorite things bout you (Y/n). There's no one else I know that's like you, that's why you have to be mine. Even if you don't want to I'll make you." Quietly I crossed the room using the map that Guufu2 had given me earlier. Once out of the temple I had to squint my eyes for a moment before they adjusted to the bright contrast compared to in the temple. One my eyes had adjusted to the afternoon sunlight I gazed around the graveyard to make sure no one was there before I climbed down. Once on the ground away from the temple entrance I took the newly made shortcut to the Palace of Winds.
Once I was there Guufu looked up from his book asking, "So I take you trying to speak to the girl was a failure then. hmm? Dark."
Swallowing the fear bottled up in my throat I met my eyes with his, "Yes sir, but I do know her current location." My hands had become sweaty from being so nervous, so as Guufu looked back down to his book I quickly wiped them off on my tunic.
Without looking up from his book he asked, "So where is she, where's (Y/n) Dark?"
"She's in that room with the hole in the floor in the Shadow Temple." I vaguely used my hands to explain what I was trying to tell him, "That and I-"
Guufu abruptly stood, "And you what? Dark did you mess up again?"
I looked down at my feet shamefully, "Well before I could talk to her completely as you asked me to, she went in that room slamming the door in my face."
I knew that I wasn't telling him the entire truth and apparently so did he, "Dark, I want you to tell me the truth this time. What idiotic thing did you do to get on her nerves this time?"
I sighed knowing that I had no choice but to tell him, "You see mas- I mean lord Guufu, she became cross right as I found her. That and I..." Before I knew it I was giving him a full explanation of what happened and how I'd called her darling and the temple a playground.
"YOU FOOL!" With his anger uncontrolled wind billowed around him causing his hair and lose clothing to flutter around him as he yelled. "SHE'S A KEY PART OF MY PLAN! WE CANT HAVE YOU MAKING SUCH IDIOTIC MISTAKES! YOU DIMWIT! *begins to yell in old hylian*"
I took a slow step back when he started to yell at me in that early form of hylian I was going to be in deep shit later, "Lord Guufu I apologize for my mistake. Please allow me to go fetch he-" I was cut off by his enraged shout.
"No! I've had enough failures from you Dark!" Sitting back down obviously calmer her placed a long fingered hand on his forehead and sighed, "Go fetch me the boy, it's the least you can do for the moment. But be careful not to disturb his burns, he's probably the only chance we have of getting both (Y/n) and my son here."
"Right away sir." I told him quickly turning for the door that would lead me to him, "Do you want him brought here?" Guufu nodded and dismissed me with a wave of his hand, I then went to get the soon to be dubbed shadow of the hero leaving me just to be a living reflection of Link from another time3.
Your P.O.V
Slamming the door in Dark's face had given me such relief from my bottled up stress due to the situation, but I was still really worried about Shadow. Since entering the room I'd been debating my choice of leaving the other two, bu if i hadn't i wouldn't know where he'd been taken. "Shadow...." carefully I pulled the black ribbon he'd given me from my hair cradling it in my hands. Tears pricked at my eyes as I clutched the present to my chest slowly sinking down with the help of the wall, "i'm so sorry, I should've stayed by your side then we wouldn't be in this mess." From in the other room I could hear what sounded like Vaati and Vio fighting about something. Laughing despite my mood I stood and wiped my tears away, as I walked towards the door. Before opening it I could hear the two arguing about a key, when I opened it neither of them noticed
Much to their surprise I quickly hugged them both; Vio was the first to respond after he got the best look at my face he could, "Hey what's wrong (Y/n)4 ? It looks like you were crying..."
Still holding the ribbon I took a shaky breath and laughed, "I know where Shadow is."
