"Let her go!" Snarled Tabemi, "Or I'll throw you in the cell." Staring him down she gave a sinister smile.
"Tabemi it's fine really, he's always like this with me." I smiled at her as Vaati let go.
Staring at me he snarled, "You bitch!" Before he could say anything else Tabemi put two fingers up to her mouth preparing to whistle to get some other guards to come help her.
Carefully I placed my hand on her bare shoulder, "You don't need to do that. He's going to behave now, right Vaati?" Eyeing him from a side glance I could tell he wasn't pleased with me, but I wasn't giving him a choice this time. It was behave or get thrown in the cell until Vio and I were done.
"Ugh." He huffed, "Fine."
Cautiously Tabemi looked from me to Vaati, "Are you sure that, that's a good idea (Y/n)? I mean it's not there aren't guys here sometimes, but....Know what never mind, let's just get you to Umiri. From what I can tell what you need to do after this is important." Smiling I nodded then the three of us headed for the area where the drop down to the cell was. "She's up there, good luck (Y/n)."
"Thank's for everything today Tabemi," I smiled before walking to the door leading to Umiri hopefully, followed by a reluctant Vaati. Once inside this part of the fortress I turned to face him, "Vaati try not to speak too much, I don't need you getting caught."
"Right.." he muttered, "I will." The two of us walked slowly towards the women walking around this room.
"Who are you two?" said a woman's voice, out of reflex I turned quickly reaching for a kunai. "Feisty as ever I see Adraphine, don't worry it's fine that you're here" she laughed.
Looking away I closed my eyes with my cheeks flushed a bright shade of red, "I-I'm not Adraphine, that's my mother's name." As I turned to face her with open eyes she smiled.
After a moment this Gerudo hugged me, "So you're the daughter her and Kaarel were always so proud about, heh I can see why they are (Y/n)." As she let go of me she offered a hand, "Hey I'm Umiri."
Taking Umiri's hand I gave a nervous smile, "Hello Umiri...."
Seeing how nervous I was she laughed, "It's okay. I won't hurt you or your friend (Y/n), so how're your parents? I would've expected they to come with you."
"...." I stayed silent for a moment until Vaati gave me a dirty look, "Didn't any of the Gerudo get word of their death? They've both been dead for years." Seeing the moment of shock on her face I sighed, "I'm sorry that you didn't get word of it sooner."
"hmm, If that's the case then why are you here?" Umiri asked curiously.
"Well...I was wondering if you could tell me something," Vaati gave a slight nod of encouragement or of disapproval, "You see I've been wondering, uhm, about why the sheikah were mostly exterminated after the war..." Sighing she offered for me to come sit down with her, Vaati followed us quietly.
"(Y/n) I don't want you getting surprised by this, but the Sheikah were split in the war. The two groups were nicknamed the "Loyalists" and "Interlopers", the loyalists were led by Impa..."
Quietly I asked as she trailed off, "but why did they split into two groups?"
"Simple really," she laughed, "Some of the Sheikah were tired of the Hylians treating them as lowly servants after the appeared back on the land. The one's who were fine with the Hylians just went with Impa, and the others stayed in Kakariko...Your mother was in charge of the Sheikah at the time and was against the split between the Sheikah, but despite everything she believed the Interlopers and Loyalists in Kakariko began to fight each other one night while she was away; When she returned to the village your mother was disappointed, even more so when she found out that the Loyalists were the ones who started the small battle by torching someone else's house."
"Is that really true, my mother led the Sheikah? I always thought that Impa'd been in charge." Vaati motioned to me for a second to get my attention.
Whispering in my ear he said, "Impa made sure no record of your mother leading the Sheikah existed because she was jealous that her younger sister got to be in charge."
"I see..." I said to Vaati, "Sorry Umiri Vaati was just telling me something."
Nodding she continued, "Upset with what'd happened your mother went to speak with the leader of the Interlopers, after awhile she joined in on the fight. About ten or eleven years your mother had gotten married, eventually after you were born the leader of the Interlopers was caught, torture and executed. Finding themselves with no other choice they had some allies take you to a safe place before going to the castle to admit defeat to the royal family. I'm not sure what happened after that besides the remaining loyalist laying siege on Kakariko forcing the gerudo and remaining Interlopers to flee to the desert."
Standing I sighed, "Thank you Umiri. That's all I wanted to know..." as I motioned to Vaati and turned to leave Umiri spoke.
"Oh you're not staying?"
I shook my head, "There's someone who needs our help. And the longer we wait to help him the more danger he could be in."
Nodding her head she said, "Your mother would always say things like that, and it was always true....Just be careful (Y/n)."
"Will do." I sighed as Vaati and I walked out to find Vio waiting for us.
"So how'd it go with Umiri, you two?" Vio asked as we got onto ground level.
"Great Vio," I said," Now let's go get Shadow."
