A/N: IM SORRY. I'd like to put that out there that I have been unfortunately busy and I barely had the time to do anything besides school work. Though, thank you for the comments and the votes :-) I will forever be appreciative of that. And without further a due, the next chapter!

Chapter 29:

-Katniss-

“And what makes you think that-“ Delly’s eyes shut and she fainted.

I immediately dropped to the ground to check her. She was still breathing, though intoxicated. I tried lifting her up and after what seemed like hours, I dragged her back out of the mazes.

Upon exiting, I immediately spotted Effie.

“Effie!” I called out.

“Oh Hello Katniss! Is that Ms Cartwright?” she exclaimed, once seeing her body.

“My, what happened?” “I found her, we talked. She was drinking and she passed out”

“Stay here. I’ll call for the other teachers” Effie started to get up but I took hold of her arm.

“No I’ll do it” I say, wanting to get away.

I ran to Haymitch who was near the drinks. “Haymitch!”

“What’s up sweetheart?” he says

“No it does not work for you. And Effie needs you to call the other teachers. Delly Cartwright’s passed out” I say.

“Will do. Now go shoo” he says with a wave of his hand.

I returned to Clove and the others shortly.

“Where have you been?” Glimmer says worriedly.

“All my life!” Cato and Finn sang, busting out some dance moves.

Glim and I both rolled our eyes. “Mazes. Delly and I talked. She passed out and here I am” I say breathlessly with a slight raise of my arms. Their gazes were fixed on the stretcher brought out for Delly.

Actually, everyone’s eyes were. After, it all went back to how it was minutes ago though most of us just were just plain tired. Much to Finn and Cato’s protest, most of us went home. I drove back with Clove.

“Are you going to tell me what happened?”

“With Delly?” “Yep” “No big deal Clover” I teased.

“I was walking in the hedge maze and Delly happened to be there. She said a lot and I actually feel sorry for her” I say.

“What’s her story?”

“She loves Peeta” I answered.

“And so do you”

“I know that”

“Katniss!” Prim happily ran to us as we got off the car

“Hey little duck” I say, hugging her tight and kissing her forehead.

“How’ve you been?”

“I’m fine Katniss. I always am” she smiled at me.

But in that smile, I spotted tired eyes and a touch of sadness in those angelic features. My smile slowly disappeared.

“Let’s go in” I say.

We entered the house. The television in the living area was on, playing an old movie Prim must be watching.

“You and I have to talk” I say

“What for?”

“Just sit with me” I say, heading to the couch. Prim did so and sat beside me and she leaned on my shoulder.

“Are you really fine?”

“I am” she said after a pause.

“I don’t believe you”

“What made you think that?” she says, lifting the weight of her head away from my shoulder.

“I just know. So what is it?”

“It’s nothing Katniss. You don’t have to worry about me” she smiles unconvincingly.

“Please Prim just tell me” I begged her

“I’m flying back tomorrow” she said.

I stayed silent. She’s flying back to New York tomorrow and I never made time for her.

“Prim…”

“It’s fine. Though I’ll miss you a lot” she says.

“But-“ “Just be there to bring me to the plane” she grins.

“Fine” I sighed. She held me tight.

That night, we both stayed in the living room. We brought out blankets and popcorn. We spent it watching old movies.

An alarm went off. The clock read 8 AM.

“I’ll take a shower” Prim croaked.

“Okay” I said and went in the kitchen to hopefully prepare breakfast for Prim. We all got ready to bring her to the airport. We were all silent and so was the drive there. The airport was crowded, as usual. The clock ticked 9:45.

She left at 10:15.

“You have everything?” I bent down to her level.

“Yes” she replied.

I took her face in my hands.

“Be safe” I kissed her forehead.

“I will be. I’m a few hours away from you and just a phone call”

“I know”

“It’s your turn to fly to us. I’ll show you around the city!”

“That’d be great little duck” I say, fixing her cardigan.

“Flight 4008 to New York” the intercom boomed.

“That’s me” Prim said.

I held her tight and she did the same. There was no doubt that I would miss my sister a lot. I was in the danger of shedding tears.

“You’ll be late. Go now” I say lightly.

“Bye Katniss” she kisses my cheek before getting in line to board the plane. I watched from the glass wall as the passenger filled in. I spotted Prim waving from the window.

“Bye” I mouthed while waving back.

I watched the plane move. “Kat. We still have to drop by Glim’s” Clove reminded me.

I nodded and we walked towards the car.

The drive out was fast, not much people were on the road. In the car, my gaze was still on the airport.

I saw a plane rising, the very same plane where my sister is in. I stared at it with a longing. Only if I had known.

I watched it as it flew higher and farther, almost disappearing before catching fire and crashing to the ground.
