Chapter 21:
-Katniss-
Johanna yelled as I drank from the bottle.
“What the hell Katniss?” Clove says.
“I’m drinking. Ever heard of it?” I ask.
“We know but we have a better solution for you” Annie says.
“And that is?”
“A party. We’re going to Thresh’s tonight” Glimmer says.
”Will there be alcohol there?” I ask.
They nod.
“Well, consider this as a pre-drinking” I say before taking another swig.
“Please Katniss. Stop it. You’ve downed half the bottle” Annie pleads.
I sigh and hand over the liquor bottle.
“Fine. I’m guessing we’re going to get ready at Glimmer’s?” I ask.
Once again, they nod.
“Well let’s go!” I say maybe too enthusiastically.
“Mood swing much?” Jo muses aloud.
“No I’m happy because we’re going to a party. We should dress up. Glim can I borrow a dress?” I ask, giddy.
I already felt the alcohol taking control but not completely.
“Oh god, she’s messed up” Clove says.
“No I’m not” I say, trying not to look tipsy.
“Whatever let’s go” Glimmer says.
We arrive at her house to see Cato, Gale and Marvel on the front steps.
“What are you doing here?” Johanna asks.
“Waiting for Finnick and Pe-“ Gale stops when he looks at me.
“What has Catnip done?” he asks.
“Drinking” Glimmer says.
“Excited for the party Kat?” Marvel asks.
“ ’Course I am” I grin.
“Glim may I borrow a dress?” I ask.
“Will you let me pretty you up?” she says.
I nod.
“Then yeah”
“Actually it’s not that surprising that Fire girl’s drinking” Cato says.
“Really now?” Clove quips.
“Since she’s related to Haymitch and all…” he trails off.
I glare at him before marching inside the house. I hear their laughter behind me. Glimmer leads us to her room and we started to dress up for the party
--Two Hours Later--
We were all deemed ready. Glimmer made me sip water as I waited for the others to finish dressing up. I was wearing a dark blue strapless dress and black heels to go along with it. My hair was in an up-do. I have no idea how Annie did that.
