Chapter 3:
-Katniss-
After 19 horrifying hours, I managed not to puke my guts out. I stumbled out of the plane with Clove clutching my arm.
“Steady” she says.
I pull my carry on with me and we got to the gates where we were supposed to find our bags.
I only brought two with me and my carry on. Clove had the same. I sat on the bench and waited for them to finish getting their bags. My head was leaning on the wall beside me and Peeta approached me and sat beside me.
“Kat” he says taking my hand in his.
“Hmm?”
“Are you fine now?”
“I’m … no” I say.
Peeta wraps his arm around my shoulders so I lean my head on him.
“Thanks” I say.
“Anything for you” he smiles.
I managed to smile slightly.
“C’mon lovebirds, Australia awaits!” Glimmer says once the group was ready.
I roll my eyes. My headache was gone now.
As we step out of the airport, bright lights blinded my eyes. I let my eyes adjust to the light.
“This is breath taking” Annie gushes.
“Really is Ann” Finn adds.
Soon, we were able to haul a cab, well three, and we were following the first cab where Glimmer was riding with Cato, Clove and Marvel. In my cab, it was me, Peeta, Finn and Annie.
The three of them were conversing about some movie they saw. I sat quietly by the window, admiring the view of this foreign country.
-Glimmer-
“Alright, who’s bunking with who?” I ask once we were dropped off in the hotel.
The couples automatically link arms. Well, except Marvel, Clove, Cato and I. Clove and Marvel both blushed red.
“Not you two!” Clove pointed to Gale and Johanna.
“What now?” Jo says bluntly
“I’d actually want to get some sleep thank you very much” Clove retorts.
Laughter spread in our group.
“I think she’s right” Katniss says in between laughs.
“Well in that case you’d have to buy earplugs. I don’t think I’d be able to promise anything” Gale says. J
ohanna blushes furiously making us all laugh more.
“Whatever” she says.
“Oh let’s go!” Annie says and we all squish in the elevator.
“Gosh Kat what have you been eating?” Cato says
“Are you trying to tell me something?” Kat says.
“Oh no… nothing” Cato says cheekily. I
roll my eyes as he wraps an arm around my shoulders.
Ding! The elevator door opens and we all at once tried to get out, making us all stumble.
“Hey!” Finn yells.
“Get your ass off me” Jo says.
I was squished under Cato and Jo.
“I suggest you all stop moving” Marvel says.
We all stopped moving.
“Then how the hell are we supposed to get out of here?” Gale says.
“Someone move!” I order and everyone starts moving at once.
“Great” I mutter sarcastically.
“Oh no! ” I say as the elevator doors start to close.
“Someone help” Annie says.
The elevator door hits Marvel, Finn and Peeta who were closest to the door but in a tangled mess.
“Peeta stop being a lazy ass and move!” Jo says.
He shrugged and moved out of the elevator and we all soon followed.
“Anything wrong?” a man asked us. His nametag read ‘manager’.
“We’re alright thanks” I say, dusting the dirt off my pants. He nods and walks off, eyes narrowing slightly.
“Okay, Room 880”I say, slipping the card in.
“One room only?” Peeta asks.
“No. It’s a suite. It has more bedrooms inside” I say.
We all enter and the room looked grand? Grand was an understatement.
“Dibs!” Clove yells and runs into a room.
“I’m joining Clover” Kat and Jo followed the girl into a room.
The room had three bedrooms, two of them containing 3 beds each. The other one contained. two massive beds.
After everyone settled into their sleeping arrangements, the guys started a conversation.
“I say we hit the beach” Cato says.
The guys agree with him
“Nothing like a swim on a hot day” Ann adds
“If you guys want to” I say.
Cheers erupted from them.
“Also, we’re sorry Glimmer” Marvel says
“Why?” I ask looking up from my magazine.
I saw him and the guys pointing water guns at us girls.
“Crap” Johanna mutters before water hit us.
“You’re gonna pay for that Peeta” Katniss threatens him and Peeta runs out the door, soon to be followed by his idiot friends.
“Change. Now” Clove orders and we all changed into bikinis fast.
The hotel was connected to a beach where only guests had access to.
“I found spare guns” Johanna says holding up two guns.
“There’s five of us” Annie points out.
“That’s why I made sure to bring these” Clove says holding up a bucket of water balloons.
“Perfect” I say, grinning.
I received a text from Cato.
‘You girls coming down?’
I showed them the text.
“We definitely are” Jo scoffs.
I texted back a quick reply.
‘May the odds be ever in your favour, Let the games begin!’
We all rushed to the beach where we had a war to win.
