"So where did your parents go," Naomi asked.

We had been sitting in their family room with Aniel for an hour now. Michael and Sophia were both in their rooms. Naomi made pizza rolls, which I only enjoyed when it first came out of the oven. They stared at me oddly when I did that, but only then did I realized it was probably too hot for them.

"My mother is with my brother and my father is enjoying hell."

Aniel who was sitting quietly sat up staring at me strangely. Naomi didn't pay no mind, she just smiled at me.

"I didn't know you had a brother."

I shrugged, laying back on the floor. "I didn't think it was worth mentioning."

"So do you have any other siblings?"

"Two other younger half sisters, but I'd rather not talk about them."

"Why," she said leaning over me.

I smiled up at her and sat up a bit. "How's your father? Getting better, is he?"

Her cheeks reddened and she backed away. I laid back on the floor ignoring the murmurs the two shared. To be fairly honest she crossed the line first.

Naomi practically ran out of the room. Aniel eased down to the floor moving next to me. He sat near my head, with a blank expression on his face.

"Our dad isn't making it. Our mom got the call last night. He's in an induced coma. There's a slim chance he could make it through, but there's nothing the doctors can do anymore."

I didn't know how to respond to that. Oh shit, you can actually talk to a girl wasn't a good idea. Comforting wasn't my strong suit. I take comforting to a differently new level of awkward.

"Let's do something fun. Just me and you."

"I can't leave Naomi now."

I looked him in the eye and refused to let his gaze leave me. "Aniel, let me soothe your sorrows the best way I know how."

He started to say something, but stopped. Eventually he just nodded. The look on his face told me I held his attention for once. I stood up gently taking his hand to help him up and led him out.

We got in the car and I drove. I had to do some inner searching to do to find it, but I had the location before I knew it. Once we got close I pulled out a bandana and tie it around his eyes.

"Is this necessary," he asked frowning a bit.

"Extremely, we're almost there and I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise."

I arrived at the hospital, cutting off his senses and dressed him in nurses clothes. Don't worry his clothes are still on. Once I took the bandana off he looked like he seen a ghost.

We were both in nurses attire, from head to toe. He should be happy I'm doing this, because father will be pissed when I get home. We went to his father's room in the ICU. Yeah he wasn't going to make it.

Aniel stood back while I approached his father. He looked like an older version of him, just with a beard.

"Is this your twisted idea of fun," he said shakingly.
