"Tell me honestly, Belle, do you think you've made progress in the past few weeks," the therapist asked.
"Well I got my sister back, but she's not the same now, so I think that put a damper on the whole progress thing," I told him honestly.
"And why is that?"
I looked at him in the eyes and he didn't glance away. "When the good goes bad, what greater evil is there? Something corrupted something so bright, that light will never shine as bright."
The eye contact was still there and it was almost frightening. I wasn't appreciating the nonterror of this.
"And what about vice versa?"
"That would have to be something to make the bad go away. It would have to be true pureness, to put aside all the wickedness one possesses. But it would be something to have that much power, because even though you put it aside, the many followers you have will always follow out of fear of one going back. But some loss of power comes with consequences," I said finally looking away.
The timer went off and I grabbed my things and left. After the fight at the loft Death came back with Amia, apparently I wasn't the only one to go missing for awhile. She came back, but she was not the same. When he brought her back he told me to keep a watchful eye. I did, and she definitely needed to be looked out for.
In the time she's been back its been hectic and I can't be the one who tries to pretend to be good. I've censored myself so much I'm going to flip, I haven't had a single sip of a drink and I'm starving.
"What are you playing," Tyla said, grabbing onto me in the hall.
I'm so tired I can't even react how I want. I guess coming back from my safe place did drain me. Well drain me more than I thought. Besides I had just came from limbo too.
"I'm not playing anything, Tyla. What do you want?"
"I want to know what you're up to."
I looked at her, staring her in the eye and like the therapist she didn't look away. It was driving me crazy. This is the one thing that I wanted to hold onto. The thing that turns people away with one look.
Dammit Al.
When Al left he took something from me. I'm not sure what it is, but something is missing and I don't like it. He left like usual, but when he was gone, it was too late to find out what happened.
"I'm not up to anything at this current moment besides getting home," I said trying to get past her.
"Why do I have a feeling your lying."
"Because you've grown accustomed to listening to lies you've forgotten what the truth sounds like."
That didn't settle well with her. Hit a nerve actually, which made her hit me. At least her rage fed me the slightest bit. Kind of funny actually and when I laughed she hit me again.
Once she went for the third strike I caught her hand and held it back.Remember Raelyn's trick? My ring was my knife and it was sitting pretty on my finger and turned at just the right moment. I pulled it out of her stomach after my turn and she fell to the ground.
I squatted next to her and spoke lowly. "You might want to get going, that looks serious."
I stepped over her and went out to the car that awaited a very annoyed Amia. I handcuffed her to the door. And no she couldn't break these and no, nobody could see her. I had to keep her somewhat near and somewhat contained.
Near the car was a few dead birds. My guess is that she got bored. I got in and she wouldn't look at me... Well acknowledge me, since she's still blind and all.
