"Why is it that if I say, 'oh yes I am the spawn of Satan,' people go batshit crazy but if it's an angel that just popped up in front of you and say 'do not be afraid,' it's all okay? And people wonder why I get so angry, because you don't stop to think how I feel. Even Al goes through stupid shit like that and he's an Angel. I would know I've heard them talk about him and even the demons talk about him. Why is it that we have to get shit from everyone because of our parentage? I didn't ask to be born. I was perfectly fine not knowing I existed in Lucifer's nutsack," I ranted pacing back and forth in Aniel's living room.
"Are you done," Death ask looking real tired of this whole thing.
Well it's not my fault we had to tell the child eventually. She's the one who fainted because she's scared of things she's never seen before. I haven't seen an elephant in person, but I'm not going to kiss the ground because of it.
"Yes," I said and stopped to look at Naomi still unconscious on the couch. Looking at her sparked up my anger again. "I just find it funny how people just assume I'm bad. I can be nice sometimes. I wouldn't have Aniel's cuts on my arms if I didn't know when to be "nice"."
"But you almost threw me down a hole because of that," he muttered.
"But I didn't and I could've." I started my pacing again. "When she gets up, she won't want to talk to me. So one of you has to explain." I stopped pacing and sat on the other side of the room. "She's about to wake up."
Her dream left her breathing heavy and heart racy. Which meant it was going to get to too much and she'll wake up or she'll die. But of course she won't, not with Death sitting here. So I'll stay quiet to let her get her life together and everything.
When she did wake up, she jerked hard like she was ready for battle. Naomi looked around taking in her settings and jumped up when she saw me. Don't know why it's not like she's all that anyway. I should've been the one jumping from her awful bed head, but everybody isn't Beyoncé.
"What is going on," she demanded looking at everyone.
"What do you mean," Aniel said semi messing with her.
She in response smacked his arm. "I'm serious Aniel. You knew didn't you?!" He didn't say anything. "Did you or did you not know, that was the Spawn of Satan," she pointed to me.
Wow I'm a that now. I don't even get a she. That's real fucked up and it's slowly bringing me back to my angry state once again. I've been fairly decent to the girl and her family. She should stop while she's ahead or she won't like the outcome, because I can show her what a that looks like.
Aniel nodded and looked over to Death for help. "I've known for awhile now."
"Are you crazy? Mom would kill us if she knew we had that in our house, actually she'd kill you because you didn't say anything, I'm just finding out."
I cleared my throat and looked up at her. "I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd quit calling me a that."
She turned towards me about to say something, but chose otherwise. Instead she looked at Death. "Are you something else too," she said sounding a bit hurt.
"Death. The angel."
She shook her head mumbling little things to herself like she was going crazy. If only it was that easy. To be crazy would be a gift to her and me. And to anyone who has completely lost it.
