Amia laughed a little glancing over my head. "Woah Kali was right. You really don't like surprises," she said sarcastically.
I couldn't say anything for a while. Amia was really here, she was right in front of me. My little sister. The one and only Amia.
"Say something because it's getting awkward now," she said glancing in my general direction.
I wanted to I just don't know what. "Ar- Are you blind," I asked before I could stop myself.
She sighed and looked away. "Only on Earth, but I can still see you in a way, just not how you see me. But it's o-"
"Did I do that?"
"Wh- no. I- ...hmm," she tapped the corner of her lips.
"Amia, don't lie to me," I breathed. "Did I or did I not do this or am part of the cause."
She huffed sliding down the wall, pressing her hands against her eyes. I don't want to be the cause of this. I don't think I could bear knowing that. It's not like she'll always be blind, but earth is where she belongs, which means if that cumbag comes back she'll have to be. And that sucks for me to know I was the reason she is.
Amia grumbled again and looked up at me squinting. "I wish I could see your face to know the right answer for this," she laughed.
"The right answer is the truth and what you know. I don't need sugar coated bull-" I sighed and moved away from her. "I don't need that, okay?"
She nodded and stared at the ceiling. "The truth is I honestly don't know. All I remember is you and Kali arguing. Then you both started hitting each other... I thought you were going to die, so I tried to help. After that I honestly don't know what happened, last thing I remembered was you standing over me and everything starting to get blurry. That's all I know, I promise. Mom knows that as well... And she also knows I'm here-"
"What!" She gestured me to calm down. "No Amia, go home. You shouldn't be here."
She reached for my hand to get up, but I moved away. I don't want to ignore her, I just don't want to get hurt again. And don't get me wrong I love her, but I don't think I could handle it if I get betrayed by her.
"Mom, won't let me," she said quietly. "I just wanted to see you and Sammi wanted to pet Nero. Kali said she'd get her later. Please let me stay."
"Sammi's here?"
I headed to the room and sure enough she was and riding on top of Nero like a horse. He wasn't moving fast enough so she hit his butt making him jump and snarl at her, to which she shoved little pieces of meat in his mouth. When he noticed me he pranced over and snatched the goose out of my hand. He gave me a look like this shouldn't be mentioned again and kicked the door closed.
"Okay," I dragged out. "Look stay if you want, but I doubt you'll like it, so don't be upset when things aren't how you expect them to be." She grinned and jumped up, latching herself onto me. I gently pushed her off and held her back. "Baby steps."
"Oh yeah right right. So what are we going to do first?"
"Sleep."
I laid back on my couch. Today was too much so I think I'll end it a little early. Amia sat next to me frowning.
"I'm not tired," she pouted.
"Then play with Nero, it would be quite unfortunate if he gets a little rough with Sammi."
She mumbled an okay and left while I tried my best to sleep. That lasted for a good hour until Sammi's laughs were getting too loud. I had to suffocate myself just to block out the noise. Eventually everything quieted down and I could sleep. Hmm would you look at that I've grown accustomed to the quietness. Gross.
