"Belle,"Lucifer called from downstairs. "Come here."

When I didn't respond he grew furious. I know he was, because everyone started yelling out in pain. I flinched at the sound knowing it would be worse if I didn't go, but for once in a long time I was terrified. What awaited me downstairs wouldn't be good and I hope I'm the only one getting hurt here.

So I eased down the stairs into the family room. Lucifer stood there while Anile was on the floor away from and Death and Naomi sat close so that he could protect her. Michael was there but he was hiding away.

"Give me that and return home," he said calmly.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before doing anything. "No."

Aniel started choking and turning purple. He gasped for breath turning on all fours. Death's eyes kept going in and out of an icy gray. Meaning that Lucifer played on that thin line of life and death. But I couldn't do anything. I'd end up making it worse if I did and I don't want that.

"Do you want him to die, Belle?"

I stared up at him without a blink of an eye. "Go ahead. Kill him."

"What!," Naomi yelled and Death shushed her.

"You want me to kill him?" I nodded and sat down to watch. "I can make it so that he will be in limbo do you want that?" I shrugged. "Nobody could save him after that and if you did you would be stuck there also."

"Are you going to kill him or not? I mean what more do you want to take from me. You know the damage that would be done to me if you did. But that doesn't matter right because he's just that kid remember?"

Aniel stopped choking or only choked a little less. It was more like he was coughing a lot to catch his breath.

Lucifer came over and grabbed me by my arm yanking me up. His grip was tight and he was starting to draw blood, but I didn't want him to see that it hurt. He was angry and I only hope his focus stays on me.

"We had a deal, Belle. Now return home and give me that or else there will be consequences that you can't conjure up in your mind. Consequences that makes what your mother did look like a slap on the wrist."

Now for the first time in awhile I was scared. I didn't know what to do and I couldn't do anything. And it was at that moment that I realized that I was spawned up to be a slave. A slave to my mother, to him, to Maze and Sheila , to  the elders and anyone else who has gotten ahold of me. I have no free will. I'm always told what and how to be. Like yeah I have done what I've wanted but if we're being honest it was just my attempt of acting out. Punishments are always followed after. So why do I keep fighting it?

I glanced over at Death who was protecting Naomi. He was mad and afraid as while. Not mad at me but mad that he couldn't do anything because of his fear. Fear of making things worse, fear of getting me in more trouble... fear of losing Naomi. Maybe that's why I fight. I don't want to lose anyone. Not Death, Aniel, Naomi, Al, Amia, Kali even Sammi although I haven't seen her in awhile. I want to have my friends and family and live my life how I want. And I will not give up so easily.

"No," I said calmly. "I told you a long time ago you'll hit me, so go ahead. Consequences are only temporary. I'm already damaged, nothing will fix that."

He let go and moved away slowly, not saying anything. He looked down at the necklace I wore glaring at it for a second before looking back up at me. He was staring for what seemed like a long time that I didn't know what to do, but I didn't break eye contact.

But something weird started happening and I don't know why everyone has to show me their memories. It was his memory of trying to get to my mom. Nothing worked on her, she wasn't easily persuaded and she didn't too much care for him. He kept trying and it was like nothing worked, but one day she gave and they well you know. She loved him and then one day she didn't.
