Ana was awakened suddenly by some strange noise outside. She wondered what kind of weird animal sound it was. Living on a ranch was definitely going to take some time for her to get used to. There were many new strange noises and smells. Some not so pleasant. She rolled over to look at her clock and it read 6:08 a.m. She couldn't believe that she was up this early on a summer day. She tried to roll back over and snuggle up in her comforter for a few more minutes. She curled up under her blankets and threw a pillow on top of her head. Trying to muffle the sounds on the farm. She could still hear the loud voices talking down the hall.

Even her nose perked up when she smelt breakfast. The delicious smoky smell of bacon was enough to wake anyone up from their sweet slumber. Ana decided to get up and make her way to the nearest shower. Only to be beaten by her brother. Ana was annoyed by the fact that David stole the bathroom from her. Even though he saw her coming down the hall. He ran in quickly and locked the door. Ana tried banging on the door in protest. Now she was going to have to find another bathroom somewhere in this new gigantic house.

"There has to be more bathrooms somewhere in this place."

She wiped the crusty flakes from her eyes and yawned a big stretch. She continued to make her way downstairs. Dressed in her pajamas. With her hair in a messy up do. As she stumbled down the hallway she bumped into Adam.

"Pardon me miss," he politely said and then slightly grinned at Ana.

She felt slightly embarrassed. Suddenly feeling a little self-conscience about her appearance. Shocked that Adam was in her house so early in the morning on a Sunday. She tried to remain calm. Like she was not bothered by the fact that she was still wearing her pajamas.

"Can you please show me where I can find a shower for us," she fumbled out the words.

Adam blushed a little and smiled at Ana. She realized her mistake and shook her head in shame.

"I mean a sh-shower for me. Not us. Not that I am trying to imply that we should shower together. Or that you even need to shower. Because I was the one who was looking for the shower, not you. Never mind."

Struggling tried to cover up her embarrassing mess up. Adam slightly chuckled. He thought that she was completely adorable.

"Follow me miss."

"You don't have to keep calling me miss. My name is Ana."

"Well alright Miss Ana. Here you are. A place where YOU can take a shower by YOURSELF without ME."

Adam brushed up against Ana as she passed him by. Pausing as he looked briefly into her hazel eyes. Then walked away quickly. Ana couldn't believe that he just said that to her. She was completely humiliated. She felt like curling up in some corner and dying. Ana shut the bathroom door as fast as she could. Standing up against the door as she thought about what just happened between them.

Why was she at such a loss for words around this guy? What was it about him that made her come so undone and tongue tied? Who was this Adam guy anyway? Was he one of those horse ranchers that helped with her grandparents horses? What was he doing in their house so early in the morning? How old was he?So many unknown questions she was dying to find out the answers to.
