Meanwhile, Zach was anxiously waiting downstairs for Ana as David and Jess tried to make him feel more comfortable. After speaking with Ana, Lisa felt confident about letting Zach date her daughter. They both seemed to share deep feelings for each other. She went downstairs to speak with Zach once again.
Zach looked nervously at her as she spoke with him. When she told him that she approved of him dating her daughter, he breathed a sigh of relief and David and Jess were surprised by their mothers' change of heart. Lisa warned Zach to be cautious and to always respect her daughters' purity and not break her trust in him. She gave Zach the 'wait to have sex' talk until he was married and Zach just listened nervously. Before she left him alone she told him that Ana was allowed to ride with him alone to the festival as long as he promised to keep his hands to himself at all times and to drive carefully.
David thought that his mother was funny and chuckled under his breath as he watched Zach's response to her comments. David was sure glad that he never had to face a girl's parents like this and he felt nothing but compassion and respect for Zach.
"Always keep this Bible between the two of you. That way you will be reminded of honoring my daughter at all times."
Lisa handed a Bible to Zach. He was extremely courteous and respectful as he took the Bible from her. He shook his head yes and thanked her for allowing him to be with Ana. He promised to be very careful with her and reassured them that he would treat Ana with the highest respect.
Zach felt even more nervous now to ask Ana to be his girlfriend. He wondered if he was even good enough for a girl like her. He was beginning to feel a little guilty about some of his past relationship mistakes.
