Ana woke up early and got dressed and ready to go riding. She threw on a pair of jeans and t-shirt and loosely braided her hair to the side. Leaving only a few strands of hair to hang down in her face. Ana went downstairs and asked her mom if she could drop her off at Zach's house. Sergio and Cristov were going to meet her there for a horse riding lesson and an extra dance practice. Ana had explained to her that they just called and told her that they were almost at Zach's house so she needed to leave really fast to meet them there. Lisa agreed to drop her off and they left to go to Zach's house.

Lisa started to ask Ana lots of questions about Zach and his family. Ana told her about how his mom died a few years ago and how both Adam and Zach had been so nice and fun for her to hang around. She just looked at Ana and said "it's good to see you smile and light up again."

"I'm still trying to adjust to this new life but it's not as bad as I first thought it was going to be." Ana reluctantly admitted to her mom.

Lisa smiled at Ana as they pulled up to the gate at Zach's house. Lisa was really impressed.

"Troy Smith really has done well for himself these past years."

"Wait just a minute. You know their dad?" Ana questioned in unbelief.

Lisa just looked at her and said plainly "yeah we go way back, but that seemed like a lifetime ago."

Now she sparked Ana's interest because Ana could tell that her mom was holding back some important details.

"How exactly did you two know each other?" Ana fished for more information.

Lisa hesitated to tell Ana how they knew each other.

"Well I thought at one time that I might marry him, but I guess it was for the best that it didn't work out between us. Soon after that I met your papi and well you know the rest of the story." She said in a non-chelate kind of way.

Ana was shocked to hear that Mr. Smith and her mother were once an item and that she thought she was going to marry him. Ana wondered what ever happened between them. Lisa didn't want to speak about it to Ana. It was a long time ago. In a past that she left far behind.

That's when she just leaned over, kissed her on the head and said that she would be back to pick her up in a few hours. Sergio and Cristov were already there and standing in the driveway talking with Zach. Ana waved goodbye to her mom and blew her a kiss, then she turned and walked towards the boys.
