Chapter 82: Lost in the moment

     It was the morning of Ana's big day, this was the moment that she had been working so hard for the past year of her life. She was both excited and nervous all at the same time. As she looked out into the audience she spotted her grandparents, David and some of her friends that were there to support her.

     Cristov grabbed her by the hand and took her off to the side and gave her a last minute pep talk. They just looked at each other and took a deep breath as they held each other's hands in anticipation for what was about to come. Ana was wishing that Zach could be there with her right now holding her hand but found some comfort in Cristov standing there beside her. Cristov was acting really sweet and serious towards her. Right before they went out onto the stage to perform their contemporary piece he leaned over and whispered something into her ear.

"No matter what happens next, I will always think that you are the most amazing and beautiful young lady I have ever met in my entire life," taking a short pause he continued. "And I want you to know how much strong feelings I have for you."

     He squeezed her hand as they hurried out onto the big stage. Ana was still a bit confused by what Cristov just whispered in her ear. There was no time to process what he just said to her. She had to get her head in the game and give the performance of a lifetime.

     They began dancing and their bodies flowed as one as they floated effortlessly across the stage, hitting every jump and leap in perfect synchronization. Then it came time for Ana's flying leap in the air where Cristov would catch her midair as she wrapped her legs around him and they spun around. Ana was getting more confident with every second passing by. Sergio cheered and whistled as he watched them dance a flawless yet stunning performance.

     Now it was time for the big finale that left everyone crying and breathless. In their final embrace, Cristov reached over and grabbed Ana and kissed her passionately on the lips for a few seconds. Then Ana pushed him away with tears in her eyes as she dropped to her knees and cried in the cuffs of her hands. Ana was so lost in the moment that she didn't even notice they were finished with the performance.

     She continued to cry as she thought about losing her father. She couldn't even be mad at Cristov for kissing her at the end because she was so lost in the moment that she didn't even recognize it happening. Cristov went over and scooped her up into his arms as the crowd stood to their feet and gave them loud screams and applause, it was the first standing ovation of the night. Ana was still crying as she rested her head on Cristov's chest. He held on to her tightly and gently kissed her on the head.
