As Elisabeth drove home she bragged the entire way about her new friend Ana.
"You should see the way Ana dances. She is absolutely amazing. The kind of dancer that everyone wishes they could be." She spoke with enthusiasm. "I can't believe that I get a chance to dance with her. She already taught me a few new things today. I really think that she's going places in dance and we might see her on TV someday."
Amanda was less than enthused about how wonderful Elisabeth thought Ana was. Especially when she noticed Zach was taking an interest in what Elisabeth was saying about her. That's when she rudely interrupted her sister.
"This year I was voted cheer captain. My coach says that I am the best one on the squad. We are practicing for nationals as well."
She needed to remind Zach about how great she was too. She did not like the thought of having any new girl come in and win over his heart. She didn't want any competition at school either. She had her heart set on becoming homecoming queen since she was a little girl and nobody was going to stand in her way that dream.
Later that evening, Ana had called Elisabeth to see if she would be interested in carpooling to the studio the next morning. Adam had offered to take her to Lexington again and she had already asked him if it were okay to pick up Elisabeth.
"Hey Elisabeth. I was wondering if you wanted to carpool to the dance studio tomorrow. Adam had offered to drive us there."
"I wish I could but I have this family thing that I have to go to."
Elisabeth was not enthused about having to be with her family the next day. She'd rather be at the dance studio practicing.
"It's okay. Maybe next time."
"Yeah for sure. Hey, maybe we can meet up tomorrow night?"
"Sure, I'll text you tomorrow when I get home and we can see if we can set something up."
They hung up the phone and Ana got ready for bed.
