The town dance was about to begin and Zach led Ana over to the town square where it was beautifully decorated with outdoor lights and flowers. There was a local band playing music and folks from everywhere started to come over and dance. Zach couldn't wait to show off his new dancing skills to all of his friends, he thought they might be quite impressed with him. Ana laughed as Zach tried to do some funky dance moves during some of the faster songs. Zach and his friends were having a good time entertaining all of the girls who were watching from the sidelines.

Amanda kept a close watch on Zach from a distance and then decided to come over and grab him so they could talk. She wanted to speak with him privately. Zach politely followed her out of the dance to keep her from causing a huge scene. Amanda tried to beg Zach to come back to her and promised that things would be different between them this time. She grabbed his hand but he pulled away from her and told her that it was over between them and they could never be together again.

Amanda began to get furious and started asking about him and Ana. Zach told her that it was none of her business and warned her to leave Ana alone because she had nothing to do with them. He reminded her that they broke up over five months ago and the same reasons he felt like ending it with her then still applies now. She grabbed his arm and begged him not to leave as he turned to walk away. He shook her off of him and told her to leave him alone.

Ana stayed inside and danced near Robbie and David. Some of Zach's friends were trying to get Ana's attention by asking her a bunch of questions. Ana had no idea how beautiful she really was and never really noticed that boys were checking her out before. One of the guys had asked her if she would dance with him during one of the slow songs and she looked around for Zach but couldn't see him anywhere. He grabbed her by the hand and begged her to just dance with him for one song. Ana felt very uncomfortable but she was too kind to blow him off and too naïve to notice that he was crushing on her.

That's when Adam came over to save her from agreeing to dance with a stranger. Ana grabbed his hand and followed after him. She tried to keep her distance from Adam as they danced and she felt very awkward. They still haven't talked about what happened between them. It had been almost two weeks since the kiss. Everything has changed between them and with Zach. Ana wondered if she should tell Adam that she was officially dating his brother or not. She didn't want to hurt his feelings but thought it might be best to hear it from her. As they danced together Ana decided to tell him.

"Zach asked me to be his girlfriend today."

She watched for any type of facial expression. She was desperate to finally find out how he felt about her. Adam didn't make it easy on her by leaving any clues to what he was thinking or feeling. Ana thought he was rather difficult to read. Zach was like an open book to her. He was always open about his feelings and thoughts with her. Their conversations came easily. Things were different with Adam. It was hard to figure out what he was thinking about or how he felt. He was very reserved and shy just like Ana most of the time.

"I figured he already asked you."

"Not before today. He even spoke to my entire family about it first. I guess I was really shocked."

Ana searched for the perfect words to say to Adam. It seemed as if she was just making it more awkward between them. She wondered why he even asked her to dance with him right now. The memory of their kiss came flooding back. Ana didn't know how to handle herself around him.

She felt as if she betrayed Zach, even though they were not dating at the time it happened. That secret kiss was the one thing that she hid from everyone. She was certain that Adam had kept it a secret too. The only issue for Ana was that she just wanted Adam to talk openly with her. To get inside his head somehow and know what he was thinking about. Did he dream about the kiss the way she did? Did he even think of her the same way she thought about him?

"Well I hope that he treats you well because you deserve the best."

At that moment he stopped dancing with her and excused himself. Leaving her alone again. What was his problem? Why was he always rushing away from her? I guess it was clear. Adam was not going to talk about it with Ana. It was going to just become a distant memory in her past. A mistake as Adam put it. Was it going to be possible for both of them to forget so easily?

Now that Ana was officially dating Zach, Adam's brother, it was certainly going to be a possibility. Zach was exactly the kind of guy that Ana could picture herself with. He was the complete opposite of her and complimented her in ways that she was not. That's why they worked to well together. They were always very open with their relationship.

Ana felt relieved when she heard Zach's voice coming from behind. He grabbed her by the hand and led her away. Adam may have been out of sight but he was certainly keeping an eye on Ana. It was hard not to notice her. Everyone in town noticed her. Zach proudly led her around the dance floor like he was showing off a new trophy. It was almost too much for Adam to handle any longer. He knew how his brother was with girls. He had hoped for Ana's sake that he'd change his ways for her. He also knew how obsessive Amanda was over his brother. She wouldn't give up on him that easily. He would be returning back to college soon and wouldn't have to face the two of them dating much longer.

Adam walked over to where David was standing and started talking with him.

"So you heard about your sister and my brother?"

"Yeah. I was pretty shocked to see Zach so early in the morning at my house. You should've seen him. He was sweating bullets and stuttering as he spoke to my family." David began to chuckle as he recalled the events.

"Wow. I had no idea my little brother had it in him."

"Yeah he must really like my sister bad. No guy goes through that much torture if they didn't have to. Trust me, I didn't go easy on him on your account. I had to look out for my sister, you know. Any guy who wants to date her has to come through me first."
