Chapter 20:Unexpected Events

I jerked up,screaming.The floor was rumbling every few seconds.I ran to the window and looked out.Several boulders were sailing through the midnight sky.I was confused and frightened.Why were there rocks being catapulted everywhere?Was there a violent fight going on somewhere?I rushed downstairs.My parents were clutching each other."Mom!Dad!"I ran to hug them.Thank goodness they were safe!"What's going on?"I asked."I don't know!The floor suddenly started shaking every few seconds."I'll go check it out,"I told them,pushing open the door.A boulder came crashing down.It landed right beside me.I stood there,paralysed with fright.

Regaining my composure,I darted to Castaway's shed.He was wide awake,growling lowly.I reached out my hand.Castaway stopped growling and nuzzled my palm.I got on his back and we zoomed out of the door."Castaway,up!"I called.We shot into the sky and hovered there.I looked out to sea and gasped."DAGUR!"I shrieked.There he was,on a reinforced ship.And beside him was an unknown person,but I was sure it was someone evil.Without hesitation,I flew down to a horn Hiccup built for emergency purposes and blew into it as many times as I could.Everyone came out of their houses."It's Dagur!It's DAGUR!HE'S ATTACKING!"I shouted to everyone.I heard the call of a Night Fury and looked up to see Hiccup hovering on Toothless."Dagur?!"he questioned.I pointed to the sea.Hiccup gasped."Get the others to the Academy!RIGHT NOW!"he cried.I nodded and went to awake the rest of the gang,including Oliver and Nevaeh.Soon,everyone was at the Academy,wide-awake from the news.Hiccup was there with a bunch of weapons like swords,bows,axes and shiny iron shields."Okay,everyone.Dagur attacked sooner than we expected.For now,here's the plan:Astrid,you and your Deadly Nadders attack first.Shoot as many magnesium blasts as you can.Yannied,Nevaeh,follow up with as much gas as possible,but don't spark it.Snotlout,Oliver,I need you guys to shoot through the gas at the ships.Fishlegs,you and the Gronckles must spew lava all over the ships.Ruff,Tuff,when everyone is out of the gas,spark it!I'll lead the Terrible Terrors to disarm as many ships as possible.And each of you grab a weapon before you leave.It might come in handy,"Hiccup instructed.I ran off to gather the Zipplebacks."Hope we come out of this alive,"Nevaeh said,grabbing a shield.I grabbed a bow buried under a couple of swords."What is this?"I questioned Nevaeh,holding up a bow.It looked like a normal bow,but there was an axe blade nailed to one end."I guess it could come in handy for close-range combat and long-range combat,"she examined it as I slung a quiver of arrows over my back."Yannied!Nevaeh!Move out!"someone barked.We hastily mounted our dragons.I whistled.The Zipplebacks got into line.We flew out of the Academy after Astrid.

We spotted several vikings charging out to battle with weapons and dragons."Going down!"Astrid called to me.She gave a Nadder call.She and her Deadly Nadders nose-dived.They zoomed across the massive fleet of ships,blasting each one with magnesium blasts and ripping the ships' sails with their tail spines.I saw her raise a hand as a signal to me.I whistled and dived.We approached the ships."GAS!"I commanded,loud enough for the Zipplebacks to hear.Almost immediately,I heard the hissing as gas was released from the Zipplebacks' mouths."Nevaeh!Let's split!You take one half and I'll take the rest.We'll cover more ships that way!"I suggested.She nodded and clapped.The batch of Zipplebacks she trained split from the line,leaving the batch I trained."GAS!GAS!"I kept on yelling.Soon,we had covered almost the entire fleet of ships with sick-smelling gas.Nevaeh and I met up at the end of the fleet.We high-fived and waited for the rest.Suddenly,the wind picked up and began blowing all the gas away."NO!"I shouted in alarm.Out of the blue,several Nightmares surrounded the gas.They began beating their wings,directing the gas back to their ships."Snotlout!Snotlout!"I heard Snotlout's battle cry through the gas and watched as he and Oliver emerged from it with Monstrous Nightmares.They blasted a ship to pieces and cheered.Nevaeh steered Death and Skull to Oliver and high-fived him.We watched and waited for Fishlegs before the twins ignited the gas.
