Chapter 21:Reunited

We all headed to the Great Hall to discuss things.Hiccup retrieved a map from his saddlebag and spread it out on a table."Alright,so now Dagur should be heading back to Beserker Island to lock up Nevaeh and Castaway.So,we'll head there first and rescue them.Astrid,you-,""Master Hiccup!"the doors of the Great Hall were shoved open roughly,interrupting Hiccup's planning.

Trader Johann stood at the doorway.He ran to Hiccup,puffing and panting."It's Dagur!He's heading straight for Glacier Island to get a Snow Wraith!"he spluttered.Hiccup's eyes widened.He thought for a moment."Saddle up everyone.We're heading for Glacier Island,"he instructed."But what about Nevaeh?And Castaway?They're still imprisoned on Beserker Island,aren't they?"Zack argued."We'll have to stop Dagur from getting the Snow Wraith first.He might kill it once he captures it,"Hiccup turned away to mount Toothless.Zack grumpily mounted Deathroar.I sat on Death and Skull and we flew out of the Great Hall with Hiccup leading.

Hiccup brought out his map again."Glacier Island should be dead north.Let's speed up,"Hiccup yelled.While we flew,we discussed the plans for rescuing Nevaeh and Castaway.After a couple of minutes,the gigantic ice island loomed in the distance."There it is!"Hiccup pointed to it.We sped over the ocean to the island and landed on the ice ground."I don't see Dagur anywhere,you know,"Snotlout commented as he landed."Wait,guys,where's Zack?"Fishlegs asked.Everyone looked around.Sure enough,Zack was nowhere to be seen."Must've stayed behind on Berk when we went off,"Oliver shrugged his shoulders.

Out of the blue,a bolt shot down right at us.Toothless growled and looked up.I shifted my gaze to the sky.Two Snow Wraiths were hovering there.They roared and fired at us.Then,as they turned to fly in another direction,I caught sight of a figure atop one of the Snow Wraiths."There's someone riding one of the Snow Wraiths!"I told Hiccup.He jumped onto Toothless and shot off after the mysterious rider.Astrid followed suit,and I flew straight after her after telling the other riders to stay where they were.As we chased the Snow Wraiths,we noticed there was not just one rider,but two!Each Snow Wraith was ridden by an unknown person.The riders were apparently quite experienced.They could whizz round corners at the speed of light and knew all the advanced techniques for shaking off even Toothless.But we pursued them relentlessly.Then,the riders took a dive.They flew straight down.Their Snow Wraiths burrowed through the ice ground."Chase them!"Hiccup ordered before diving down into a hole.I followed Astrid down the other one.The rider twisted,dived and soared while burrowing.Then,the Snow Wraith turned its head to shoot at Astrid and me.Astrid ducked.I leaned to the side and avoided the shot."Quick!We have to catch up with that rider!"Astrid yelled to me.We picked up speed.The rider turned,face hidden by a hood and mask.Then,both rider and Snow Wraith flew straight up and escaped to the land above.We shot after the rider.The Snow Wraith turned to shoot at us again.Suddenly,it crashed right into a tower of ice.The rider gave a scream of fright.The pair fell to the ground,unconscious.

"Get the rider and take off the hood and mask,"Astrid told me,getting a coil of rope from around her battle-axe.I landed and ran to the rider.I tore off the mask.The rider was a girl who looked to be about 15.She had brown hair tied to the side of her hair in a messy braid and a faint scar just above her left eyebrow.She donned fur-lined clothing which consisted of a long-sleeved coat with a puffy fur collar,a knee-length skirt and cream-coloured trousers that disappeared into worn-out boots.I dragged her to Death and Skull.They sniffed her.Death growled."It's okay,it's okay.She's not awake,"I reassured him.I lay the rider on Death and Skull's back before heading over to Astrid."Help me tie this rope round the Snow Wraith so we can carry it,"she instructed.We made a sort of harness for the Snow Wraith.I whistled to Death and Skull and pointed at the harness where a bit of rope lay as the grip.They picked it up with their feet.Stormfly took hold of the other grip."Tie the rider to the Snow Wraith as well,"Astrid suggested.I nodded and did so,making sure the knot was tight enough to secure the rider but also loose enough to let her breathe properly.Astrid and I mounted our dragons and carried the rider and her dragon back to where I had left the rest of the group.
