"NO!"Jessica screamed.Cassie wrestled with her sister to get her to stay on Frostbite.Dagur brought the sword to Shiverwind's head with a malicious smile."If you don't bring that Night Fury down here right now,I may just accidentally swing up my sword and you'll never see your precious dragon ever again,"he laughed his evil laugh.I looked over to where Jessica was.Fresh tears had spurted from her eyes."Hiccup,don't do it!"Astrid protested.Dagur brought the sword to Shiverwind's throat."SHIVERWIND!FREEZE!"Jessica half-shouted and half-sobbed.Shiverwind obediently froze in place,still as a statue.Hiccup pursed up his mouth and looked at Astrid with a look that she understood.He let out a soft exhale and steered Toothless down to the ship in defeat.Astrid remained silent.Hiccup dismounted Toothless and glared at Dagur."Have your way for now,but I'll get you back for sure,Dagur,"he spoke in a way that made people feel ashamed of themselves,be it Dagur or even Stoick.Sure enough,Dagur's grin faded a little.Astrid dived to get Hiccup.Suddenly,five Beserkers seized Toothless and one pinned Hiccup to the ground and tied him up with a rope."Thank you very much,Hiccup,for surrendering to me.Now,I finally have the power of the mighty Night Fury!"Dagur declared proudly.

"No!"Astrid grabbed her spare axe and flung it right at Dagur.She missed him by an inch.Hiccup was dragged down under the ship's deck.Toothless snapped and struggled and roared at every Beserker that tried to drag him away from his precious master."Toothless!Stop!"Hiccup shouted to the Beserkers in a vain attempt to save his dragon.But suddenly,Toothless opened his mouth.A bright purple light formed in his mouth.A whistling noise rang through the air.An unfortunate Beserker was hit straight in the chest and sent flying.He hit the ground and lay sprawled out on the ship deck.Dagur stared in disbelief at his fallen soldier.Seizing the opportunity,Toothless shook free of the Beserkers and leaped towards Hiccup.He pushed away the guard holding Hiccup and stood protectively in front of Hiccup in a battle stance,growling at anyone who dared to come near.Hiccup hurriedly pushed the ropes off himself and mounted Toothless.I glanced quickly at Dagur.He was raising his sword.Suddenly,I saw what he was going to do.

"SHIVERWIND!"Jessica let out a scream that rattled my brain,and probably everyone else's too.There was a cry of a Snow Wraith before a heavy thud.Dagur's sword was stained with a maroon liquid.Shiverwind lay on his side,blood gushing from his throat.Hiccup turned with a look of utter shock and horror on his face.Even Toothless looked astounded.Dagur broke the stunned silence with a laugh that plainly betrayed the satisfaction of victory.Without warning,Jessica whipped out her crossbow,placed a bolt on it and shot straight at Dagur.It sliced through the air and went straight into Dagur's stomach.I gasped.Dagur dropped his sword and clutched the bolt.Jessica drew out another bolt and aimed.The second bolt went right through Dagur's chestplate and into his chest."Sir!"his guards cried simultaeneously.Jessica took out her last bolt.She inhaled,placed her bolt and exhaled.With one eye closed,she aimed carefully and shot.I watched in awe as the bolt dived down.It pierced Dagur's chestplate again,but this time it wedged itself right into his heart.It was so deep no amount of pulling would get it out.I just sat there on Castaway,staring at the ugly sight.Dagur fell to his knees and dropped to the floor with a sickening crunching sound.He lay dead beside the dragon he had just slayed.Toothless took off to safety."Shall we finish them off?"Astrid inquired gently,knowing how the sight of dead dragons affected Hiccup.His face was blank."Carry Shiverwind off the ship before setting the sails on fire and making holes in the deck.Let the Beserkers drown with their leader's corpse,"he whispered.Astrid beckoned to me and told the other riders what to do.Astrid and I used a net from the ship to carry away Shiverwind.Jessica was crying on her sister's shoulder.Hiccup flew over to them and they talked quietly.The rest of the riders set to work drowning the evil Beserkers.Oliver and Snotlout and Zack torched the sails.Nevaeh,the twins and Fishlegs found a few large rocks and dropped them from a high point in the sky.The deck was smashed to nothing and in a matter of minutes,we left the place with cries for help behind.

~Next morning at Glacier Island~

We had all gone to Glacier Island to spend the night there as it was too troublesome to carry Shiverwind from Beserker Island to Berk,and then to Glacier Island.We slept in the small cave where Cassie and Jessica resided.The next morning,we prepared to bury Shiverwind.Hiccup and Astrid had covered the gash in his neck with some fabric.The dragons made the grave by melting the ice with their fire breath.We scooped out the water with buckets and padded the bottom with some comfortable old cloths so that Shiverwind would be comfortable in his afterlife.After the grave was done,Nevaeh and I carried Shiverwind to the grave.We set him down for a minute so Jessica could hug him one last time.Then,after Cassie had hugged him too,we slowly lowered him into his grave.We removed the net from his body and prepared for the short farewell ceremony.

"Farewell,Shiverwind.You were a great dragon who never failed his mistress.You loyally served your mistress and protected her from harm,and she in turn loved you.Now,as we stand around you,Shiverwind,do know that although you have disappeared from your mistress' side,you will forever remain in her heart,and also the hearts of others,"Fishlegs recited.Cassie lay a bucket of fish beside Shiverwind.Hiccup contributed a flask of water.I rummaged in my bag and found a not-so-dead daisy in my water flask.I decided to just throw it in.The rest put in their contributions too.Finally,Jessica fetched Shiverwind's saddle from the cave.It was polished and clean.With a tear running down her cheek,she let go of it.It fell into the grave,right on Shiverwind's back where it belonged.Then,we poured snow into the grave until it was firm and solid above Shiverwind.Cassie wedged a gravestone into the snow.It read,'SHIVERWIND HEMMINGS,NEVER FORGOTTEN,ALWAYS LOVED."

I walked over to where Jessica and Cassie were kneeling down.I patted her shoulder."I'm just glad I killed the person who killed so many of my loved ones,"she told me.I smiled weakly."Thanks for that.Now,Hiccup doesn't need to worry about him anymore,"Jessica managed to curl up the corners of her mouth despite her tears.Meanwhile,the riders were preparing to head back to Berk."We'll be back soon.You guys stay here for the time being,"Hiccup reassured the sisters.They nodded.Frostbite strolled up to Cassie's side.I stroked his icy skin before mounting my own dragon.Castaway playfully pawed at Frostbite before turning to fly off."Hiccup,"Jessica called just as we left the ground."Thanks for everything.Do come again soon,"she finished.Hiccup smiled and nodded.We waved goodbye before flying off towards Berk again.

Out of the blue,a thunderous roar sounded from Berk.I glanced at Hiccup."Let's get a move on!"he ordered.We flew at top speed to Berk,never expecting what was there...
