Kira and I walk in silence. She tells me to sit on a bench when a guy arrives. Kira and him talk for a while and Kira starts to cry.
Even though I was far away I felt kind of awkward. So, I moved further and played some games on my phone.
Kira came back later. She sighs.
"I just broke up with him." She says, puffy eyed.
I honestly didn't care. But Kira is my sister, I have to show her a little comfort. "Why? Was there something wrong?"
Kira shakes her head.
"Then, what happened?"
Kira takes a huge breath, she looked like a fish out of water. "We're moving after this school year."
I was surprised by what she said. I never thought we'd be moving. My parents lived in that house before Kira and I were even born. "Oh. Well, you still have the rest of the year with that guy. Why'd you break up with him now?"
"Because I knew the longer I spent time with him, the harder it would be to leave." A tear falls out her eyes. "Let's go."
It's the first day of November now. Things are still pretty much back to normal. Except Jacob.
I walk in the cafeteria with my friend, Diana. We were going to our usual table when I saw Jacob in the table farthest away from everyone. He was alone, staring at his food.
"Hey, tell Penny I'm sitting somewhere different today. Okay?" I didn't wait for her to respond.
Once I've reached Jacob I accidentally kicked the chair and the table shook.
Jacob didn't look up, instead he shrunk in his chair and pulled his hoodie more so it would cover his eyes.
"Sorry." I say as I take a seat. Jacob's body relaxes a bit more. "You okay?"
Jacob shrugs.
"What's wrong." I watch as he picks his food.
"I'll tell you after school." He gets up and leave.
