Chapter Twenty-Two//Instagram

Hey look at that, an update. I'm doing great already.

"What the hell!" Rachel yelled.

I immediately jumped up. I jumped too fast and too quickly that I fell off my bed and landed on the ground.

Unfortunately I landed on the spot where Rachel was lying down.

"Oww." We both groaned in unison, then laughed after.

"You're so stupid." Rachel and I kept giggling.

"Me? You're the one who's yelling at 2am!" I laughed and lightly hit her arm for being stupid.

When we both stopped laughing for no reason I asked her why she yelled.

"Sorry, I was playing a game and I lost so..yeah." Rachel looked at her phone again and tried to act casual.

I laughed. "Rachel, you're funny."

"How?"

"You think you can lie to your best friend? I know you very well and I know when you're lying, even if you're really good at it." I explain.

She sighs loudly and dramatically flops down on her pillow. Well, my pillow. She was just borrowing it. "I am really good at lying." She chuckles. "But it's like you and I share the same exact thoughts and you know me so well."

"Uh huh. So what's going on?"

"Um. Well," She ran her fingers through her hair repeatedly and went on Instagram.

"Don't tell me this is about you getting only 50 likes on your selfie!"

"No, no! It's something worse! Remember Penny? So, I was stalking her on Instagram and look what she posted!" Rachel shoved the screen in front of my nose. "Look!"

"Okay, okay I'm looking!" I snatched the phone away from her hands. Surprisingly, we weren't getting in trouble for yelling. My parents probably couldn't hear us.

I looked at Penny's photo and she was kissing my boyfriend. The caption said 'my new boyfriend, the one and only Jacob!'

Rachel looked at me with pity. "Abby, I'm really sorry. I know he was your first boyfriend and you cared about him a lot."

My heart was shattered, like that same day I first caught them kissing behind my back.

Jacob never posted pictures of us kissing on social media. He never mentioned me to any of his fans, but he did with Penny? Was he too embarrassed to tell everyone that I was his actual girlfriend?

"It's okay, I knew he was a jerk the first day I met him. He was playing with my emotions, it was stupid of me to fall for him." My voice cracked. I took a deep breath as Rachel put her arms around me. They were comforting, but they weren't Jacob's.

an update as promised!! sorry that it's so short, all my chapters are short though tbh.

i dont remember the last time i wrote about these characters and stuff. honestly, i miss it and writing this story is really cool. it's kinda like hearing a song that you haven't heard in a long time idk but it feels great

so i have a few ideas on how to end this book

yes, this book is going to come to an end. sadly all good things have to end right?

im not making jacob a bad guy though okay, but i needed to write this chapter bc it's important obviously.
