I walk down the block to Jacob's house. The front door was opened and I peeked inside. I heard someone playing the piano, it was beautiful.

I always liked the sounds of pianos. I look closer inside, my head basically sticking through the doorway.

The closer I got, I saw Jacob playing the piano. His back was facing me. He was surprisingly good. I stayed there and watched until I got startled by a voice.

"Abby! What are you doing here?" I jump back. In front of me was Jacob's mom. The piano stopped playing. I hear Jacob's voice.

"Oh, mom I invited her. You can go now." Jacob appears and invites me inside. I step in silently.

"Well, alright. I'm going to the market to buy dinner." She smiles and heads out the door. Jacob sits down at the piano and fixes some papers. I surprisingly sit next to him.

"What brings you here?" He asks me.

I quickly think about it. Why am I here? "I dunno." I say, playing a small melody with my left hand on the piano. "You play?" I ask him.

"Yeah." Jacob says silently, like he's embarrassed by it. I turn my head and look at him.

Our faces were only inches away, this is the first time I really looked at him. I stared into his eyes, as he did to me.

"I never knew your eyes were hazel," I started. I immediately look away and play with my bracelet. He chuckles. It was silent for a while. "Oh, by the way. Thank you so much for the phone." I look at him again, but he doesn't look back.

"Your welcome." He smiles.

"You know, I had braces before." I say.

"Really? Smile for me?" He looks at me again.

I joke and make a huge smile. I like this Jacob better. The less annoying, chill one.

30 minutes later, Jacob's mom comes back with groceries. Jacob and I help out bringing them in the house. We turned it into a race to see who could bring the most groceries in. I was the faster runner, so I won.

"You're a good runner." Jacob says between breaths.

"Thanks." I laugh. "Race you up the stairs!" I start to run.

"Hey!" I hear Jacob yell behind me. He caught up to me and I tried to stop him by tugging on the end of his shirt. We were already up and Jacob fell, dragging me along.

I ended up on top of him, I stared into his eyes once again.

A piece of my hair was covering my face. Jacob moved it for me, his fingertips brushing against my cheek.

"I like your eyes." He says, then chuckles. I smile, then get off of him.

"Sorry 'bout that." I get up. Jacob's mom yells, she says my sister came to get me.

Which confused me, but I went. I say bye and walk with Kira to the park.
