We cooked some lasagna and made some mashed potatoes. Mom tells us to change into some nice clothes, but I look at the clothes I'm wearing (the ones Penny gave or bought me) and think that these are my nice clothes.

Either that or they're my only expensive pair of clothing. I walk into Kira's room and she's in her underwear.

"Yikes!" I tiptoe to her drawer.

"Ugh, what are you doing? Get out!" She digs out clothes from her closet and tosses them on her bed.

I grab some mascara and put it on. "Done." Kira stops and looks at me up and down.

"You aren't gonna change?" She goes back to digging out clothes.

"Why should I?"

"Whatever."

I head out of her room and I ask mom if I could take a walk outside, she nods in approval. I put my phone in my back pocket and slip on my shoes. It was 5:00pm and the sun was still shining bright.

I head down the block, where Rachel's house used to be. I see the front door open, and people unloading some boxes. I walk past it to the playground.

"Woah!" Someone yelled from behind. I turned around and bump my head on someone else's head, then fell on my butt.

"Ow." We both say at the same time. I see a blurry figure. I look down and see a skateboard. Now, things are getting more focused. I look at the figure once again.

"Jacob?" I take the hand he offered and get up.

"Abby, I'm so sorry- again." Now he starts laughing. "Wow, first the smoothie and now this!" He laughs even more.

I roll my eyes, which is a bad idea because it's hard to focus again. I look down and see my phone on the floor.

My new Rose Gold 6s was on the floor, faced-down.

"Shit." I muttered. I slowly pick it up and see the right side all cracked up. I felt anger boiling up in me.

My favorite aunt bought it for my birthday last month. I turned around and was ready to strangle Jacob. Instead, I showed him the phone.

"Bitch, you better pay for this." I say as calmly as I can.

"Ouch. What a strong word." He puts his hand over his heart and pretends it hurts.

"Not as strong as my fists!" I raise my right arm up and punch him on the cheek.

Now all my anger has turned into guilt. Once Jacob regained his balance he rubs the area I punched him.

"I-I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for that to happen. Are you okay?" I move his hand away and look at his cheek. It's red but it doesn't look bruised.

"Sorry, you must hate me now." I say and I look down. Jacob laughs, which makes me curious.

"Gotta admit, you're a good puncher. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt that much anymore." He shrugs and takes my phone.

"Well, I would pay for it. But nah." He puts my phone in his pocket and takes his skateboard.

"Hey!" I tried to stop him but he already left. Now, I truly hate him.
