Chapter Twenty-Five//Surprise

It's now been four months since the whole Jacob and Penny thing, and I think it's safe to say that I am completely over it. The drama studio has been really fun and I loved everything we did.

We've been rehearsing a play on this short story about a village and the show was next week, which made me excited and nervous at the same time. I've met new people, made new friends, and I've been working really hard in school because my parents are now paying me $20 for every A I get.

Kira is going to a community college right now, but next year she plans on going to a University.

I'm still best friends with Rachel, we talk to each other daily and fly out to visit each other every once in a while, but I've made new best friends. Even though none of these friendships can ever replace what me and Rachel will always have, it's great to be a part of.

I was taking a cab home with my neighbor, Ben. We talk to each other a lot and our parents are close friends, so we're friends too. He was my height, with black hair and blue eyes.

We pay the taxi driver and I add a fair tip then head out the door.

"So, I heard you're gonna be attending my play next week." I smiled at Ben, hoping the news is true. I want him to see that I do have talent and I hope that I might be able to impress him.

"Maybe," He smirks. "Well, I have homework to do and then basketball practice after. I'll see you tomorrow?"

"You know it." I assure him and head over to my apartment.

"Abby!" My mom squeals as she attacks me with a bear hug. "I've been waiting for you to get home! And so has someone else.."

I gasp. "Is it Rachel?"

"Nope, even better!"

"Hmm. Oh! Is it Uncle Derek? He's my favorite!" I jump up and down. "I haven't seen him in forever."

"He's in your room right now! He's so excited to see you again." My mom pushes me a bit forward to tell me to go on and check.

I jog to my room and open the door, but the person I saw wasn't Uncle Derek--it was an even bigger surprise.

Jacob.

short short short chapter but i wanted to end this with a cliffhanger so the next chapter would be juicy
