The next day, I meet Jacob back at the park. I see him sitting at the swings. I sit next to him.

"Hey," He looks up. His hazel eyes meeting mine. "I just want to make this quick, would you. Ugh. Would you like to be my g-girlfriend?" His voice getting squeakier when he finished the sentence.

"No." I immediately say. His face turns into a frown. "I wouldn't like that. I would love that." I laugh. A huge grin spreads across Jacob's face.

"Dumbass, don't scare me like that!" He pulls me into a hug and then he gives me a quick kiss.

We go to Jacob's house. His house is empty right now because his parents are at work.

"So, if your gonna be my girlfriend," He starts. "I think I should know more about you." He says while we walk up the stairs.

"Alright, whatcha wanna know?" I sit on the chair near his desk.

"What's your middle name?" He smiles, trying to hold back his laughter. I laugh.
"Martha."

He nods. "Abby Martha Brown." He says my full name. I roll my eyes.

"I hate my full name." I spin around in his chair.

"I like it, because it's yours." He winks. My stomach fills with butterflies. "Anyway, if you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?"

"Hmm, I'd say Europe. I don't know why." I shrug.

"Well then, you'll go there one day. With me." He adds in. I giggle.

"Looking forward to it." He smiles.

We go on asking each other dumb questions and giggling. My dad texts me and says I have to go home. I kiss Jacob and he walks me home.

I say thanks and give him a quick hug. I close the door and walk into the living room. I see my family sitting around the table, I immediately knew it was a family meeting.

"Why?" I let out. My mom pats the seat next to her. So, I walk over to her.

"I have good and bad news," Dad says. "I have a new job, but it's across the country. We're moving to New York."

I remember Kira telling me about moving a few weeks ago. I also remember not caring then, but now is different.

I have Jacob, and I don't want to lose him. I don't let the feelings out though.

"Oh," I say. Dad looks at me, surprised.

"That's all your gonna say? I thought you would freak out or something."

Mom sighs. "You know Abby never lets her emotions out." Kira stays silent the whole time.

"Well, when are we moving?" I look down at my shoes.

"After Christmas." Mom says. This time, I don't hold back my emotions.

"What? That's so soon!" I feel like crying.

"I know, I'm sorry. But there's nothing we can do!" Mom puts her arm around me. I sigh.

"If there's nothing we can do, then I guess that's what it is." I say as calmly as I can, despite my angry feeling.
