"Dad, I have some papers you need to sign." I sit down in the arm chair next to the couch. Dad is watching hockey, his favorite sport.

"Yeah, put it on the table and mom will sign them for you." He says, not taking his eyes off the screen.

I roll my eyes and laugh. I leave the papers there with a sticky note for mom, I know dad will forget to remind her. I grab my bag and go up to my room. I dig my laptop from under a pile of dirty clothes and Skype Rachel. It's 1:56pm right now, and Rachel is a 2 hour time difference. I'm not sure, something like that.

She picks up and I realize how much stuff I want to tell her. From the first day without her here, to finding out a famous guy now goes to our school, to Penny and I being friends now, and losing then finding my bracelet.

"Hi!" Rachel and I yell at the same time.

"Oh my gosh, I have so much things I wanna tell you!" I say desperately.

"Same, but I'm pretty sure yours is more interesting. You go first." She makes a "ready-to-listen" position which always makes me laugh.

I start. "Okay um, I woke up. I asked Kira for a ride to school because I had no one to walk with. Uhh, this internet famous guy named Jacob Sartorius now goes to our school-"

Rachel clears her throat and interrupts. "You mean your school."

I nod. "Right. My school. Anyway, he goes to our school now, and he dumped a smoothie on me, it was only an accident though. And I didn't notice that my bracelet fell off and then I walked to the bathroom and Penny actually helped me. I swear I thought she was pranking me- but she wasn't!"

I told Rachel the rest of the story, even the part when I just dug my laptop out of a big pile of clothes. She told me about her day, how it was much colder and she had to wear school uniform. She said she also met some really cute boys that she thinks I would like.

On and on we just continued talking about our boring lives and how much we missed each other. We talked for probably an hour and 30 minutes until she had to hang up for dinner. We say goodbye and I close my laptop.

I sit in the chair near my window and read for a few minutes until mom comes home. She calls me and Kira to help her with the groceries. Kira, as usual, digs in the snack bag when mom isn't looking and takes some for her.

We both end up fighting over Oreos and mom takes it away from us.

"Stop being childish." Mom puts the Oreos down. Kira giggles.

"Mom, what are you making?" Kira asks.

"Oh, I've invited the new neighbors over tonight for dinner." She grabs her apron and turns the stove on.

Before Kira could ask, I interrupt. "What new neighbors?"

"The ones moving into Rachel's house."

"People could already move in? Rachel just left yesterday though." Kira washes a grape and pops it in her mouth.

"Yeah, I don't care about how they got here. I just want to welcome them. Now, wash your hands and help me." Mom gestures for us to hurry.
