TYLER'S POV
"No, it's going to be 23!" I exclaim.
"But if you multiply it by 2, then divide by 53, add 12, take away- basically if your undo it then you will get 22.13!" Nevaeh argues.
"Guys, just put in the median" Ross says before stuffing his mouth with popcorn again.
"No, I'm telling you, do it with a calculator!" Nevaeh still goes on.
"I believe you" I give up putting down my pencil.
"Urgh, you can't do that!! Your supposed to let me explain!" Nevaeh whines.
"Fine babe, talk me through it!" I sigh. She goes through the equations again as Ross munches loudly. Pretty soon the munching annoys me too much and I ask him to stop.
"Will you stop that Ross, and turn the volume down!" I half shout.
"Your boyfriend is here!" Carlie yells. The two of them walk in and she smiles at me. That's weird! I think. She always smirks or frown at me, but this was a genuine smile, hiding empathy for me. I try to return her smile, but I can't peel my eyes off of him. He wears ripped skinny jeans and a plain white shirt, the combination that seems to look perfect on all boys. He wears his letterman jacket, which he didn't wear often until I had told him I thought it made him look hot. His hair is wet, probably still dripping from his shower. His eyes seem red, he probably stayed up all night and needs his sleep. But it's only 5, maybe her was... Crying. I feel a hand on my hand, snapping me out of my trance.
"Hi" I say. Surprisingly, my voice is quite steady and for that I am glad.
"Hey" he returns quietly, his voice seems a bit shaky.
"Come sit, Carlie would you like to join us?" I ask politely.
"No thanks, I'll sit with Ross" she responds. She doesn't frown or smirk again, in fact she hasn't exactly said anything that impolite since she got here, and she has been quite quiet. She gently sits next to Ross leaning into him.
"Do you want some popcorn?" Ross offers. She shakes her head without looking away from the TV. "Oh well, more for me!" He shrugs.
"Guys, I have to go." Tyler says suddenly. I look at him and see him looking down at his phone.
"Thats cool" I say. I get up and hug his and I hear Kian shift uncomfortably.
"Will you be okay?" He whispers in my ear. I simply nod.
"I'll be fine." I say.
"I'll be back in about an hour" he says. I nod again and he kisses me on the forehead before letting go of me. I walk him out and hug him one last time before he leaves. When I walk back in Kian is standing up.
"Nevaeh, can we please talk?" He asks as I walk to the couch. I shake my head and am about to sit down when he suddenly pulls my hand towards the stairs.
"Kian! Let go of me!" I cry out.
"I just want to talk! Jesus, I won't be kissing you I promise!" He sighs. As much as I want to ignore his sad, voice I simply can't. "Fine I'll leave." He says, his voice cracking again. He lets go of my hand and walks down the stairs before going out of sight completely. I feel so guilty, maybe I should have listened him once. I ran down the stairs and out the door without putting on any shoes and see his car pull out of the drive way.
"KIAN! WAIT!" I yell. I run after the car and he stops. I run to the passengers side and sit inside. He looks at me confused, evidence that he was crying on his face.
