TYLER'S POV
"What time? Nevaeh asking right now" I ask mom.
"Six? Tell her whatever time is comfortable with her."
"That's fine, just come over when you're ready, I can't wait to see you again babe" I tell her walking up the stairs.
"Okay, I'll let you know when we're all home, but I don't think Ross and Rocky will be able to make it. Ross is still in Miami and his flight was delayed, and I haven't heard from Rocky yet" she explains.
"Okay, I'll see you soon" I say.
"I love you" she whispers giggling into the phone.
"And I love you" I say back. She hangs up and I lay onto my bed. Nevan enters and I smile looking up at him.
"A girl?" He asks as he sits next to me.
"No, she's my best friend" I say sitting up.
"I knew the two of you were meant to be when I first saw the two of you" he laughs.
"You know, once you remember who that girl is, will you try to find her? What do you plan on doing?" I ask him.
"I don't know, what if she turns out to be my ex-wife or something? What if my name isn't even Nevan?" He says.
"The what ifs are as boundless as the stars. But they're the only thing that you should never stop asking." Nevaeh smiles.
"Nev!" I say jumping up.
"We're here for dinner!" She says. "Hey Nevan!" She says.
"Your in a good mood." I smirk wrapping my arms around her.
"That I am" she smiles.
"Care to tell me what's up?" I ask her raising an eyebrow.
"There's this amazing book that I haven't been able to put down!" She squeals clapping her hands together excitedly.
"What's it's called?" Nevan says taking an interest.
"Well, it's called The Historian!" She says.
"By Elizabeth Kostova?" Nevan asks.
"That's the one!" She says excitedly.
"That's one of my favourite books!" She squeals loudly.
"And I'm guessing I have to read it next" I sigh.
"Yep!" She says. She hands me the book and I place it on my night stand near the lamp. Nevaeh continues talking about the book to Nevan as she sprawls across the bed. I lay next to her listening to her talking as I catch up with the messages in the group chat. There always people who text the night before when they don't do homework. Rocky walks in about Half an hour later.
"Ross is here, it's time to eat" Rocky says. I sigh, happy that the two have stopped talking about the book, Nevaeh could go on all day if you let her. We make our way downstairs and I see bowls of soup at every chair, and some Indo-Chinese food in the middle. I love it.
We tuck into the soup as the chatter around the table begins to dissolve. Everyone is clearly enjoying the soup, but I could see some faces going red due to the spice. I chuckle slightly paying attention to Lynn saying something about how she loves being homeschooled to Nevan. I've seen how much she, Nevaeh and Nevan have have in common, it's really strange. Just imagine how weird it would be if the girl he was looking for was either of them.
Just as we're passing round the food, I hear a fork dropping in a plate. I look at the direction the sound came from, and see Nevan holding Lynn's hand, almost squeezing it. His eyes are distant as he stares into space. Lynn struggles to get him to release her hand silently.
