Chapter 24

ROSS' POV

(BIT OF VIOLENCE DOWN BELOW, ILL WARN YOU SO IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE OR UNDER 12 THEN YOU CAN SKIP BUT IT DOES HAVE A IMPORTANT BIT, BUT BE SENSIBLE!!)

I got on the bus third to last, before mum and dad, so that I knew what to do. Nevaeh went on the bus and touched her bus pass on this thing near the drivers seat. She said a quick thanks and moved on and Lynn walked right past him. Then I saw a sign that said 'you must touch if you are 11 or over' and something else underneath too small for me to read. After Tyler went on Rocky stepped up and looked back at us. He gave us a small smile but seemed really nervous, as though this was some sort of exam. He took the pass out of his pocket and pressed it against the oyster. It didn't beep 3 times like Nevaeh's or Tyler's. It beeped red.

"I swear I'm not a thief! Please let me onto the bus" Rocky begged, dropping on his knees, making us all have a giggle fit.

"Chill out kid, just Try again will Ya!" The bus driver laughed.

"I knew that" Rocky said making us laugh even harder. He tried again and it beeped green once. "Just once?"

"Yeah, your an adult. If your not then your using an adult one." Nevaeh said walking up toto Rocky and the bus driver. "Now go and sit down, just not in between Lynn and Tyler"

Riker walked up and he looked just as nervous as Rocky. He pressed his pass against the reader and it beeped green. He walked on and took a seat next to Rocky and it was Rydel's turn. She pressed it confidently and walked on like a pro. After Ratliff and Ryland went on it was my turn. I took a step up and tried to copy her actions but now I understood just how my brothers felt.

"Just press it will you, your not gunna be electrocuted!" Nevaeh laughed. I did as I was told and sat down next to Rydel who was sitting next to Lynn at the back. Soon Mom and dad were on and had sat down too, but Nevaeh stayed and chatted witht the driver as though she knew him very well.

"Ross go and get Nevaeh please, she might fall if she stands up" mom said. I nodded and slowly got up but lost my balance and slumped against my seat again. I tried again holding onto a pole. This time, i managed to succeed. Keeping hold of the poles i walked up to Nevaeh.

"Nevs, mum is calling you to sit down" i said before almost tripping over. Thankfully Nevaeh caught me by the shoulder.

"Meet my uncle, uncle Markus meet my new brother Ross." She introduced me to the bus driver.

"Hey!" I waved nervously at him. I thought she was an orphan. I would have to ask her about that later. "Come on let's go" I said.

We walked and she sat down in between Tyler and Lynn. She took out her earphones and plugged it in. She had a Nokia phone? She handed and earphone to Lynn but Lynn shook her head so she tucked it into her the top of her shirt instead. She closed her eyes and leaned on Tyler. I decided to ask her about her phone when I heard her humming along to pass me by.

"Don't touch her! She will knock you unconscious" Tyler warned.

"What why?" I asked.

"It's one of the things she remembers from when she was a little kid" he explained.

"She learned martial arts as a toddler?" I asked amazed that it was possible.

"I guess you can put it that way, I mean I did too, and Lynn had classes but is still not as good as us" he said surprising me even more.

"That's awesome!" I laughed.

"No no no no! It's not awesome! It's Rossome!" Lynn said. We all laughed like mad and everyone on the bus stared at us - except for Nevaeh she still had her earphones in. During the journey we only heard her humming to R5 songs so now I know we are her favourite band which is pretty cool. After Pass me by came Without you and then the rest of the Louder and Ready set Rock album. Then smile. She pretty much hummed to all of our songs and I was surprised.
