Chapter 16

2 WEEKS LATER
"Mom, I'm going out on a date with Laura" Riker said walking past my room. They were an official couple and I totally ship #Liker- I think . They decided to go with that because they figured that #Raura would be what the fans used as our ship name. As he was leaving, Riker slowly walked into my room, which really surprised me.

"Dude, I wanna apologise to you again. I know ever since me and Laura started dating, I apologised a lot but I really feel guilty. I just want you to know that no matter what happens to this earth nothing will ever happen to her. She is too precious. " He said looking at his feet. I knew he was telling the truth. He felt really guilty but it's not us who control love so I don't blame him. He then walked out my room and made his way downstairs.

The girls said that any of us could Skype them anytime and they gave their ID's so we didn't have to talk to that rude lady who called them brats again. I had nothing to do so I figured I might as well give the oldest girl a text asking if she is free to Skype me.

Ross: hey, baby sis, I miss you, are you free, I have nothing to do so I thought I could Skype you. 😘

A few minutes later, I got a reply saying yes, so I went to hunt for my laptop. I saw Riker using my laptop last night so I went to his room. I should get everyone a new laptop for their birthday this year. Rocky was on his bed laying down and smiling like an idiot. He saw me when I walked in and he suddenly sat up and tried to give me a neutral expression.

"What's up bro? Why are you lookin so down?" He asked me.

"I'm looking for my laptop, and I'm fine, but you tell me why you have got that goofy grin on your face." I said.

"There's a new girl in school. She really cute. I asked her for her number and then asked her out. She said yes. She just texted me confirming it and gave me her address. And she asked if we could study together tomorrow evening after school." He said laying back down on his bed.

"First of all you need to chill, and if she is coming here tomorrow then tidy your room and the living room downstairs. Meanwhile I'm gunna continue looking for my laptop" I said.
"Knock yourself out" he replied.

I went to Rikers bed. It wasn't there so I looked in his side drawer. The top one didn't have it, it just had a few old pens and bandages, so I was just about to close it when I saw a shiny wrapper. I reopened it and saw a small box, a jewellery box. It was from a midnight sale in a store that wasn't exactly in this city. The mall was 4 hours away.

I slowly opened it and saw a small ring. It was gold and had a diamond on it. It was in Riker's drawer, so it was probably for Laura. If it was real it meant he was going to propose. Just the thought of it made me really upset. I couldn't express the feelings inside me. I was just so confused, I felt angry at my brother and my partner, but I was happy for them too. I couldn't dwell on it too much- after all I was the one that said they could be together.
"Dude what you thinking bout" Rocky asked peering over my shoulder. I quickly put the ring back into its box and put the box where I found it.

"What are you hiding?" He asked.

"N-nothing, I thought I saw my old watch in here, that's all" I lied.

"So why are you so nervous?"

"Alright chill" he said, making me realise I was shaking.

I took a deep breath and closed the drawer and opened the bottom one. It had girls clothes. It was probably Laura's. I saw a green stripy top, similar to the one that Riker had but never wore. I also saw a bikini, it seemed as though it had been used and hand Washed.

I closed the second drawer and opened the act one. At the top I saw my laptop so I took it out and closed the draw. I didn't bother looking at what ever was under neath my laptop.
