- 3 weeks later-
I stumble out of bed and groan a my feet touch the cold tile floor. It had been 3 weeks since the last beating and I was put on lockdown mode. My basic routine everyday was waking up, getting a quick breakfast, showering, and staying in my room until dinner. Yeah. It was pretty lonely and I think I was getting paranoid after spending so much time locked up in my room. I look around at my room. I had spent hours examining every detail in my room. Plush cushions sat on a velvet couch in the corner of the room. On the walls, pieces of artwork from around the world decorated the room. Wood shelves filled with books sat against the wall. I had read my whole collection of books under 3 weeks and I needed to get more. I thought of Sugar- the bookstore/cafe. How I missed its smell of old books and cookies. And I seriously needed to get out. I've been stuck inside the house and my skin was starting to turn white.
I walk into my closet. Yes. It was a walk in closet and picked up a maroon sweater. I brushed my hair and put it into a braid. I try to be careful as I put my sweater on. I can still feel the pain on my back and there was definitely going to be scars. I shuddered at the thought of the belt hitting my body.
I start to exit the room, when I notice a piece of paper near the trash can. I kneel down and slowly unravel the paper.-Part-timers needed-
Shit. I totally forgot about the job. And that girl looked really excited that I was going to apply for that job. Hmmmmm. Maybe I was mistaken. She looked like a girl who would be nice to everyone. "Maybe I should take this part time job,"I thought. "No," I scolded myself. "Haven't you had enough of being punished. Besides, you can't afford to get in trouble again." I push that thought aside and crumple the piece of paper. I throw the paper in the trash as I exit the room and head toward the kitchen.
I grab a granola and a cartoon of juice. The maid looks at me, clearly annoyed by the sight of me. I stared at the ground. Great now the maid was against me too. Abby and Crystal probably told her about me and how I was a prostitute. I sigh and start to walk up to my room."Lilyyyyyyy," Crystal purrs.
I whip my head up and I see my sister wearing a crop top and black stilettos. She smiles and I know something is gonna happen.
"Yes," I reply slowly
"What's with your face. I'm not gonna do anything. At least not right now," she says.
I swallowed a lump in my throat and look around nervously.
"Anyway, mom and dad decided to let you off the hook. But the next time, your seriously going to die," Abby chimes in.
I look at them surprised by this news. Really. I was off the hook. I suddenly thought of the part time job. Maybe..............
"Ok then. We'll be going shopping and then we're gonna go on vacation. See ya later."
I wave weakly and head to my room. "Im going to do it," I thought. "That job was going to be mine, no matter what,"
I quickly grab an outfit from the closet. High waisted jeans and combat boots. I grab my purse and some money. I walked out the door and headed straight for the bus station.
-30 minutes later-
I arrive at the bookshop and I smiled, relieved that the job sign was still on the window. When I opened the door to the shop, I could instantly smell cookies and old books. The place looked the same and I start to search for the girl who I bumped into last time. When I turned a corner, I bumped into something hard. A wall??
Wait. A wall wasn't warm and breathing. I back away and a guy turns around. My heart stopped when I realized who it was.Jack
