A chime rings at the front of the store and a couple walks in smiling. I wave at them and they smile back. As I continue restocking on the newly published books, someone comes from behind me and starts helping.

" Thanks," I say and we do this quietly for a few minutes.

"So you don't hate me," a familiar voice says and I turn my head shockingly.

"It's you," I hiss quietly.

"Yeah it's me. Aren't you glad you get to see me everyday from now on." He says with a smirk on his face.

And once again, I notice everything about him. He's wearing a dark blue t-shirt just like me, but it looks too tight on him and his muscles show.

I start to protest, but stop myself in time. Good job Lily, if you annoy him, he's going to tell my parents. He probably knows your real identity too. I duck my head and resume on restocking the books.
I hear him sigh in confusion and I smile mischievous. After a few minutes of silence, he finally speaks up.

"Lily why are you ignoring me. What did I do wrong? Please just talk to me ok?" He says in a whiny voice.

I couldn't control myself and bursts out laughing. He stands there looking at me weirdly and I bend over holding my stomach. It was too much. I never thought Jake would do this. Just because I wasn't talking to him.

"Are you done laughing at whatever you thought was funny," Jake says and folds his arms.

I hold up my hand and look at him, trying to contain my laughter again.

"It's just so hilarious to see you whine like a little kid. And just because i wasn't talking to you." I say with a hint of teasing in my voice.

He scowls at me and turns away to finish unpacking more books. I smirk at his response and walk toward him with a huge grin on my face.
I help him unpack the books and our hands accidentally brush each other. I pull away instinctively and shuffle a couple inches away from him. He doesn't seem to notice my movement and presumes his actions.

I start thinking about Jake and my mind wanders away.

If he wasn't so arrogant, he would have been a nice person. Well. I admit it. His arrogance is his charm, but it could get annoying at times. But I can't forget that He's a millionaire. From my last experiences with rich people, they weren't people to mess with.

" So why are you ignoring me Lily? "he says casually.

I roll my eyes at his attempt to make me tell the truth. But honestly, deep in my heart, I felt a little sad. Sad that I couldn't get to know Jake. Sad that I wouldn't be able to see the real him.

I'm ignoring you because I'm afraid. Afraid that  you will end up like any other rich guy. In it because of money. A person who only values money. I don't want another person in my life that only likes money.

"Hello, are you in there," Jake says snapping me out of my thoughts.
He waves his hand in front of my face and I shove his hand away.
He chuckles and looks at me with a knowing look in his eyes.

"You know you remind me of this girl I once knew," he says, sadness clouding his face.

I look at him curiously. How did he become so emotional all of a sudden? I think about this for a few seconds before I reply.

" I'm ignoring you because I found out," I say waiting for his reaction.

He looks at me utterly confused and asks,"
About what?"

I take in a breath as I say this.

"That you're a millionaire............"
