Chapter 12

Omg. He passed the interview. I seriously can't believe it. That asshole actually got a job. What the fuck. Now I have to see him everyday. Ughhhhh. This was going to be torture. Why, out of all the people in this world, did it have to be Jake. Anyone else would be fine. But not him. Every time I saw him. I felt like I met him before. Like we were connected somehow. But....

Maybe this won't be such a bad summer. I already knew Jessica and maybe I could make more friends. I finally had a job. This was a start of a new life. I knew if I tried hard enough, I could make it in this world.

And then I suddenly remembered what Jessica told me when Jake finally left.

"Omg can you believe he actually passed the interview," I exclaimed.

"Of course he did. Don't you know who he is," she says looking at me like I crazy.

I shake my head. "Who is he?"

"I can't believe you don't know. He's Jake Stuart, the CEO of Stuart Records. He's the youngest millionaire in history. 20 years old and already owning a company. How amazing is that. And he's going to be working in this very bookstore." She squeals.

I'm shocked when I hear this and my eyeballs nearly drops out of their sockets. A millionaire? That asshole? How is that possible. There is no way. And I've been talking back to him since I met him. Oh god. I was going to be in big trouble if Jake told my parents. And there was a high possibility that they would meet. Oh course they would meet. They were fellow millionaires. I had to be careful of that Jake from now on.
