Jake POV:

The screen on my phone is blank. No reply and I frown down at it. Is it broken or something? Refreshing it again, but seeing that the screen remained the same, I sigh and toss the phone onto the crouch. Stretching a little, I decide to take a shower to pass time.
"She better reply once I get out of the bathroom" I think to myself as I head off to take a warm and relaxing shower. ...........

As the water pours over my hair, I stand underneath the faucet feeling the warm water rain down on me. Closing my eyes, I take a few breathes and wonder about her. Lily. What was wrong with me that I continually tried to annoy her? I admit that she was fun to tease at times. And she was annoying sometimes too. But at the back of my mind, I couldn't help but feel like I knew her from somewhere. Somewhere in the past, but when I try to think about it more, it's like my mind can't seem to grasp that information. Who was she exactly? And how was it that my Brain can still remember her?Suddenly something comes into mind.

----------------------------------------------

The floor in the kitchen was a mess when I arrived at the manor from school. It was a Wednesday and school was let out early. Mom was nowhere to be seen and I figured that she was busy cleaning the mess whoever had made. I put my backpack in the corner of the kitchen, and begin picking up the shattered pieces of glass on the floor making sure the fragments were piled neatly. What a waste it is. The glass was a deep sea green with designs that looked like it was from some expensive museum. A shriek erupts from upstairs and I jump back. Who the heck is that? The sound of foot stomps suddenly appear and I glance up to see the madam of the house holding a huge white bag and strutting to the front door without a word. Her face was red and I watch wordlessly as she exits the house, slamming the door behind her. Then. All is quiet. I finish cleaning up the glass and disposing it into the trash bin.

Finding the time, I notice that Lily should be home by now from school. Wondering if she's in her room already, I climb up the shiny stairs in search of my best friend. As I get closer to her room, sniffles and crying could be heard. I take no time to open the door and there laying on the floor is lily. Her head is buried on top of her arms as she sits with her back to the wall. I run over to check if she's ok.

"Lily what's wrong?" I ask concerned.

She doesn't answer and sniffles even louder. I sit down next to her and put my arms around her, giving her an embrace. We sit like this for the rest of the afternoon.....

----------------------------------------------

3 hours later......

It's past 1 a.m and the street is quiet and still except for a few dogs barking now and then. I texted Lily about an hour ago and still had no reply. She was playing with me. I was sure. What was this girl doing to me? Knowing that I'll sound desperate if I text anymore, I attempt to go back to my room to sleep. I hear a beep as I start toward my room. Quickly turning around, I lunge for my phone to see that Lily had finally texted. I smile as I read her reply , but that soon turns into a frown as I continue reading it. I reply almost instantly and the thought of sleeping soon slips from my mind.

------------------------------

30 minutes later

I hear a knock on the door and I glance up from the book that I was reading. I stand up to open it, knocking full well who would be standing on the other side.

"Look who's the stalker now, trying to-"

My eyes widen as I look at the sight of Lily. She's as pale as can be and it was obvious that she got into a fight and lost. She stumbles forward and I instinctively catch her as she tumbles down. She fits into my arms perfectly and without a second to spare, I lift her up the ground and carry her bridal style to my room.

"Whoever did this to her would have to pay." I think bitterly.

Fuck that bitch who did this to her.
