It is now the first day of my job and my emotions was a mess. Thoughts came coming to my mind like lightning.

What if I got caught working? What if Jake told my parents that I was working? Would I finally make friends at this job? Would I get fired on my first day? Would I mess up?

So many thoughts, and I can't believe I'm actually still breathing. I look down at my outfit and wonder if this was appropriate for the first day of work. I had on black jeans and a blue blouse with pinkish shoes. I randomly picked a scarf, in case it got cold and a black jacket, just in case. I was supposed to be at work by 8:30 and it usually took me half an hour by bus to get there.

Luckily, the housekeepers didn't know I had summer vacation and still expected me to leave the house by 8:00. I rush downstairs and grab a muffin, before heading out to the bus stop.

As I wait for the bus, I see children outside in their yards laughing and I smile. The sun is starting shine and I feel the warm sunlight on my face. Maybe this is what life is all about. Enjoying the little things that life can give you. I hear the low rumble of an engine and look down the street. The bus was slowly and steadily moving. I get on and pay my fare before settling in the back of the bus and reading. The rest of the way there, I read and listen to music.

When the bus finally stops in front of the bookstore, I check my watch: 8:23 am

I had time to change into my uniform and get ready to work. Just as I am about to walk into the store, a blur cuts in front of me and walks in.

"Well someone's in a hurry," I mutter as I open the door to the store.

And of course, guess who's standing there with a huge smirk on his face.

Jake.

He's wearing a worn out shirt and jeans and I admit it made him look hot. I blush as this thought crosses my mind. I was supposed to hate him, not get attracted by him.

"I know I look sexy, but you don't have to keep on staring Lily," he says and puts his hands in his front pocket.

I start to insult, but I suddenly remembered he was a millionaire. Oh right. I am supposed to act nice when I was around him. I close my mouth and walk past him. He looks like he was expecting a response and I laugh internally. This was so much better than talking to him. Annoying him was better and more fun.

I hear his footsteps coming towards me and I walk faster.
His footsteps speed up too and I laugh. I suddenly stop and he bumps into me.

"Ouch, what the hell" he says as he rubs his arm.

I shrug and head toward the staff locker room.

I'm still laughing when I'm finished changing into my uniform. A dark blue t- shirt with the store's name and logo. Matched with tan pants and a hat, I now look officially a member of the Sugar staff. When I'm about to head out, Jessica comes in with a a short girl that's around my age. She has high cheekbones and jet black hair framing her angel like face.

"Oh hey, Lily, this is Alice the other member of the staff here." Lily introduces and Alice smiles in reply.

I nod and smile back.

"I'm glad that we're coworkers now. We so need another girl around here. Andy and Ron is driving us crazy. They're the other members of the staff. " Jessica starts saying.

Alice and I share a look and burst out laughing. I guess we were off to a good start. We both knew that Jessica was bubbly and loved to talk. All three of us chat until we reluctantly head to the front of the store to open up. Maybe this was going to be a fun day after all.
