I come out of the closet, humiliation written across my face. Great just great. How am I going to go downstairs with so many guests waiting? And my parents- they will be pissed. No. Not just pissed, agitated to the point where they will explode. How will people think about them now when they see me like this? They'll be humiliated to Christmas. I shudder at the thought. Not again. Now I won't be able to work for the next few days. This really was bad.

I hear a knock on the door and I jump back a few feet. Might as well get this over with. I peek out of the door, making sure that they could see only my head and not the hideous clothes on me. Too late. Crystal grabs the door knob and swings the door open with full force. Trying not to meet both of their eyes, I stand awkwardly in front of them. Not knowing what to do. Should I stay where I was or try to go outside where the party was.

"I better just stay still." I think to myself, suddenly feeling like the air got colder.

A chill goes through me and I feel goosebumps lining up on my skin.

Crystal takes my wrist and drags me downstairs with Abby trailing behind giggling. As we reach the bottom of the stairs, my breaths quickens rapidly. This is going to be hell.

We reach the bottom of the stairs, where we could hear the soft murmurs of people talking and the band in the corner playing soft classical music. A hush suddenly fills the room as crystal shoves me toward the living room. The heel of my shoe jerks suddenly as I stumble forward and I find myself on the floor with my stomach and face on the ground. Oof. Well this was going to be fun. The room is still quiet that you could hear a pin drop and I pick myself up slowly. Dusting off anything that might be on my clothes, i finally look up at the audience watching me with distaste. Not distaste. Absolute horror. Each and everyone of them are frozen. Some still holding wine glasses in midair. Some still holding bits of cheese and crackers. All of them turned toward me, their eyes looking down at the awkward and embarrassing girl on the floor who disrupted their party.

Cheeks turning red, I try to stand up and return to my room before my parents get to me. No luck. As I stand on my feet, I feel a sharp pain on my right ankle, making me fall back down with a thud. Rubbing my ankle slightly, noticing that it looked swollen. I try crawling toward the door.

"I'm fine everybody. Return to your drinks and snacks." I shout trying to sound enthusiastic.

No one moves. Finally a voice speaks up.

"Everybody don't be alarmed. It's just one of our newly hired maid. You can bet that she'll be gone by the end of tonight. Am I right folks?"

A few people laugh politely and my father turns toward me with a fake smile.

"Please go upstairs and pack your belongings. You're fired from this job." He says calmly.

The vein on his forehead looked like it was about to explode and i nodded almost instantly. That was my signal. Trying to get on my feet and actually succeeding this time. I hobble upstairs, attempting to not make a sound even though the pain on my ankle was slowly intensifying. The noise level in the living room regains to its original peek as I exit the room. No doubt finding someone next to them to discuss what had just happened. Rumors will probably spread before i reach my room. This was so perfect. Now I can't go back to Sugar. And I will get fired. Oh my god. Then I won't be able to see Alice and Jessica again. And I was just beginning to get closer to them. I can't go back to being a girl who stayed home all summer. I'll go crazy. My eyes start to water at the thought of losing that job. It was fun and they treated me like I was one of them. I can't go back to being a girl with no friends. I can't. Ron. Andy. Even Jake. Oh god Jake. He even took the risk of talking back to the manager just so I could come to this party. What was I going to do? Why did this have to happen to me. Of all people? I didn't deserve this. I didn't do anything wrong to deserve this.........
