I looked in the mirror one last time, fighting back tears in my blue eyes. My short blonde hair fell freely and my black dress fell just above me knees.

Here I was, going to my best friend's funeral to say my final goodbyes. Not only to Amelia, but the girl I used to be, to Cody. Everything was going to change from this moment. I no longer had my beloved, and I no longer had a friend.

When Amelia, Cody and I were trying to survive, I used to think we were alone. I thought how cruel it was for anyone to turn us down; for we were alone. We weren't though; we were never alone because we had each other. I had my beloved and our best friend, our leader, but now I was truly alone.

Not a friend in the world.

I walked slowly to the funeral, not in a rush to be there. The moment I see her lifeless body, that's when it becomes real. That's when there's no doubt, no denial, no excuses. That's when I was certain.

Certain that this was not a nightmare.

As I reached the river bank, flowers red and orange surrounded everyone. I saw her casket under the shaded tent but I didn't dare take a step towards it.

I felt tears stream down my face like the river in front of me, some drops joined it. Silent tears became breathless sobs. I didn't care about my make up, my best friend was dead.

My legs gave out, sending my knees to fall against the soft grass. I held an orange flower that as you went up from its base it went from yellow, to orange, to red. It was beautiful.

I placed the flower gently in the river and watched it drown.

"Goodbye Amelia. I'm so sorry I couldn't save you." I sobbed. "You meant the world to me. I never thought I would be here. You didn't deserve to be kicked out. You didn't deserve to be hated and attacked. Rejected and poisoned. Most of all, you didn't deserve to be killed by your best friend. I'm so sorry."

I cried until my eyes couldn't shed anymore tears. Slowly I stood up and sat down in a chair next to a handcuffed Cody. I didn't spare him a glance but I felt his gaze on the side of my face, begging for me to look at him.

When Tray and Malia walked in, Cody glared his way. Tray's eyes were bloodshot, as red as a fire. He looked weak and cried when he saw her casket. Malia comforted him but he pushed her away. He wanted no one but Amelia.

Cody glared daggers at Malia.

"On September 4, 1997, Amelia Collins was brought into this world. She lived a life of leadership, hope, authority, and respect. She also lead a life of love." At this, I noticed Tray's eyes drop to the floor.

"Amelia spread love to anyone that would let her. She opened her arms to anyone who would run to them. She gave people homes, food, and warmth. Amelia will truly be remembered for her bravery, honesty, but most of all, her love. May we all some day have a fire like her's." Everyone was in tears, except Malia. Everyone sobbed and gasped for air.

When the man lit the casket in fire, I sobbed more. It was truly time to say goodbye. Tray fell on his knees and held his head in his hands. When I heard a growl, my attention was locked on it. Malia's eyes shown a numbing black and her canines were showing. She pulled out guns and loaded them.

She first pointed at Cody, and I felt my eyes grow red.

I was going to sprint toward her when we heard another growl, one much louder and powerful. I looked around but everyone was cowering from Malia.

When a fox leaped out of the fire and shifted into my beautiful best friend, I couldn't have been happier. Amelia immediately stared at Malia, pure hatred in her eyes.

"You mutt, you're going to die." She murmured and I gasped. She had never spoken that way. "You think you can kill me? The Moon God will always make sure you suffer. Pay back's a bitch isn't it?" Malia cowered from Amelia, petrified.

Amelia stepped toward her but she was engulfed in Tray's arms. She hugged him back and laughed with nothing but joy. "I love you Amelia. Don't ever do that again."

"I won't, I promise. I love you." She smiled warmly at him and he suddenly turned toward Malia, growling loudly.

"Now I know why my wolf hated you so much after her death. He knew it was you. You killed her. You took away my only happiness. My mate." Malia was trembling with fear.

I quickly grabbed the keys from the guard and took the handcuffs off of Cody and leaped into his arms. I felt so safe and happy.

It wasn't him. She's not dead and he didn't kill her. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you. I'm so sorry." I cried and he stroked my hair soothingly. "It's ok my beloved. Everything's ok now."

We both turned toward Malia now 4 of us ready to kill her. Tear her apart limb from limb.

"You're pathetic, nothing but a desperate, lost, broken, little girl. Now look where it's gotten you, dead." Tray growled, his eyes glowing an electric blue. Amelia's eyes were a burning orange, mine and Cody's were blood red.

We would've killed her right then and there. Ripped her throat out and kept her skin as a blanket for our children. We were going to kill her, if it weren't for the little voice that interrupted us.

"Mommy?" The small boy stared at Malia.
