I paced watching my pack and their backs straightened as I walked past them. They sparred with each other and with one wrong technique, or lousy move, they get a warning.
As I see a soldier playing around I let out a loud growl. He stops and turns around looking down at me. My eyes glow orange and I show my teeth.
"Sorry Alpha Amelia." He bowed and I gave him a curt nod and left with my Beta in charge. My beta was Cheyenne, a vampire and my third was her mate Cody, another vamp.
I walked into the pack house and shifted into my normal self. I left my eyes glowing orange and looked myself in the mirror.
"You're not my daughter! You're a freak!" My father shouts at my 16 year old self. "And you," he points at my mother. "You'll be hanged. An affair with some other creature!" My father was so old school. It's the 21 century dad not the 15th.
I shake my head getting rid of the memories and getting dressed. I walk out to the nursing fields to see Cody checking on everyone. This is where the children stay when their mothers can't be with them, or if their mothers can't nurse them herself.
Cody checked the vampires teeth first to see if their fangs were coming in quick enough, and then checked the wolves.
This is my pack, but we're not just a pack. Each and everyone of us has started with someone being shunned and kicked out of their families or packs. We're the strongest pack, because there's one thing we run on. One thing we were taught to fight with. Anger.
All of us have a deep burning anger, and I taught them to fight with all their rage. I taught them to contain every bit of anger until it comes time for battle.
As the strongest pack, and the pack that runs on anger, you would think we're the bad guys. Although, we have never attacked a pack for no reason, not even a small reason.
Part of fueling off of anger, means learning to control your anger. We have to contain every bit of our anger and release it only when we're attacked, which is quite frequent considering everyone thinks I'm satan.
I'm a fire fox; the first of my kind. I don't know how I was created, but my family, and any other family was not happy about it. So I was pushed out of every pack, and was not welcome to any clans. Anyone who continued to have anything to do with me, was shunned.
Cheyenne, Cody and I were the first of this pack. Years went by as we welcomed any outcasts. Suddenly, it became known that the fire fox had her own pack. It also became known that any outcasts, no matter what kind, or why they were kicked out, had a home here.
So we built our home here and we're a family. No one is higher, stronger, better, or greater than any other. I'm an Alpha but I'm not better than a nursing vampire.
That's how our pack works, as a team, not a race. We do not try to be better than the other, but we work to become one and create safety for all.
Suddenly, a howl breaks the peace of Outcasts. Everyone stops to listen and I focus on my mind link.
'Is it an attack?'
'No, they say they come in peace.'
"Carry on! They come in peace. Just remember our drills and our signal." I smile warmly at them and they carry on hesitantly.
I shift and sprint through the trees and soon I find myself staring at a white wolf. I stand up straight and place my black paws in the dirt firmly; indicating that this is my land.
It bows and submits to me.
'Why are you here?' I ask.
'Oh please, my children and I were shunned from my pack. My mate had murdered many people!'
'You always have a home here. Return with your children and meet me here as soon as you can.' Then I turned to the guard.
'When they arrive you escort them to me.' He nodded curtly and the wolf took off.
I decided to trot through the unclaimed territory as I usually do once a week.
My father slaps my mother. Suddenly, my blood boils, and I mean really boils.
"Touch my mother again," I set on fire. "I'll burn you to the bone." I snarled and stood in front of my mother.
This was not my father, and I was not his daughter.
I trot until I find my usual spot, also where I used to sleep every night. I crawl into my den and curl up.
I hear a rustle in the bushes and quickly cover up my hole with a shrub. I see paws through the buses.
Night black and it walks further away so I can see its full body, black with icy blue eyes that pierce straight through you.
I plan on waiting until it walks away, but it plants itself right by a tree, and lays its head on its paws. The wolf states off into space and I see many emotions cross its eyes.
The first was anger, then it was confusion, then longing.
Using one of the powers that no one else has, I read his mind. It's like mind link, but he can't read mine.
'If only she were here. I don't even know who she is, just someone out there meant for me. Why doesn't fate bring her to me? Why am I the one who has to live life alone?' It was definitely a he. He had a very deep voice, but not too deep.
'But what if I'm not? If I just wait a little longer- no. Father won't allow it. Why does he have to ruin this?! Why does he make me choose?!' He's so frustrated and I feel so much sympathy toward him.
Eventually, he gets up and trots off. I wanted him to stay, I wanted to know what he was thinking about. Who was she? Why does he want to find her so badly?
I crawl out of my den and trot back to my pack. Cheyenne is at my side in less than a second.
"Soldiers are weak, guards are fearful, and everyone's staving. There's no more food, the women refuse to cook. Everyone is protesting." I stopped feeling and blue fire of panic in my eyes.
"Why? What's wrong?" I ask and she stops and blinks.
"You have no husband. You can't be Alpha, without a mate." She informs me, and for some reason, the idea of having a mate sparks something in my heart but the fire dies.
No one will want a freak like me.
'Maybe they will.' Olivia says.
Hey guys so I know that maybe this story is a little confusing so far. It seems like there's a theme but then again it could be just a story.
This story is about a girl who's world got turned upside down when she changed and it was different. She wasn't like everyone else so they pushed her away. She was a stray.
That brings me to my next topic. Check out the video above and be sure to check out the real thing. "The Strays" by sleeping with sirens. Great band, great song.
Another thing, if you have any songs that you would like me to recommend please comment right over there~>
Thank you so much so reading and I'll be sure to get the next chapter out as soon as I can. Love you!
Don't forget you comment, recommend and vote.
Thanks guys. Peace :)
