Chapter 31

*Seven Days Into Capture*

The Homeland Security's car sped up, the engine roaring, in the car was two passengers; Tom and Skouris.

It was now mid afternoon and traveling behind them in Vance's car was Adam and Vance.

They had spent the whole evening at Adam's house explaining Vera's situation after Tom and Skouris got off duty and Adam had called Vance over to help out.

They were now heading over to Security Homeland HQ where Skouris and Tom could have them repeat the story of Vera's disapperence and record it.

It may be circumstantial evidence but it could be something Tom and Diana could look into regarding Vera.

"Hey," Adam said, breaking the silence in the car.

"Yeah?" Vance said, trying to focus on the highway he was driving on.

"I have a plan." Adam stated.

"Plan?" Vance said, confused.

"A plan for us to go and get Vera back." Adam said.

"Huh? I thought that we needed the help of Agent Baldwin and Agent Skouris for this, that's why we told them." Vance said, more confused than before.

"We don't." Adam replied.

Vance stayed quiet.

"Why did you tell them then if we can get her back?" Vance asked Adam.

"Because I didn't want to risk it." He answered.

Vance stays quiet the whole ride.

Now in the parking lot of the HQ, Adam stops Vance from getting out of the car, wanting an answer.

"I would help out the plan, just tell me what it is quick before they notice." Vance warned.

"The signal is when I say I want to use the restroom and the only thing you have to say is that you want a cup of water." Adam said.

"Really, dude, that's it?" Vance asked him.

"You'll see..." Adam said, getting out of the car.

Vance followed after and gave the car keys to Adam in his jacket pocket.

Skouris and Tom led the men through the lobby and went up in one of the elevators.

Finally seated in the interaction room the guys sat on the other side of the table, in the middle was a recorder, while Skouris sat on the other, and Tom choosing to lean on the wall.

"You ready to start this? Hopefully, this won't take long because the recorder is here an--" Skouris said.

"I'm sorry but can I ask for a cup of water?" Vance asks, interrupting her.

Skouris sighs and gets up. "I'll be right back." She said.

"Thank you," Vance said gratefully.

"What about you?" Tom asked Adam.

"I have to pee." Adam answered, making a slight face. "Where's the bathroom?"

"Down the hall, hang a right and it's the second door." Tom answered. "You got it?"

"Pretty much," Adam said, getting up and walking away from the table.

He leaves the interrogation room and slips out into the hall, managing to avoid Agent Skouris coming back with a styrofoam cup of water.

Adam goes down the hall, hanging a right like Tom said to but not to use the rest room like he said he would.

It was to find a computer, and finding an empty office that an agent left open in his/her way out to use his/her lunch hour.
