*Seven Days Into Capture*
Vera's POV
I've been here for a bit more than a week. I'm sure of it. It is scaring me. I certainly haven't even begun to wonder if my family knew of my abduction.
Surely, it must be a field day for Holly and Vance. Maybe Damien had an idea, maybe he's left to see me and found that I wasn't there at Adam's house. Maybe Ma and PA called the police.
Who knows?
I don't. It is possible they had Damien not care about me anymore. Not Ma or Pa. But just Holly. She was capable of being manipulative. Maybe she still is now.
It seems...that all of the answers are leading me to say 'I don't know' when there should be a better answer to this.
There always should be one.
Isn't there?
Just as I began to think there shouldn't be one, the door to the warehouse opened. A figure in the doorway. It was now evening.
"Well, now what else you got for me?" I spat at the the shadowy figure that was in the doorway.
I assumed it was Helene.
"I found you." I heard the figure say.
"Adam?" I said, confused.
I must be going crazy to wish Adam was here that bad.
"Adam." The figure confirmed, moving closer to the overhead light near my desk, closing it behind him.
It really was Adam.
He was here after all.
"How--" I was going to say.
"I can't, I'm going to get you out of here first, questions later." Adam said, walking over to my chair.
In the process of untying the rope's knots, the warehouse door opened and walked in a brunette woman with glasses.
"Adam!" I said, scared for him.
She could be one of Helene's little workers.
Adam looked up from untying a knot and gazed at her for a second before getting back to the knot.
"She's okay, Vera. Her name is Zara. She's the one who helped me in here. Shes not going to hurt you." He said, managing to get me out of the knots.
Getting up from the chair, I stretched quickly and looked at her.
"Can I trust you?" I asked her.
Zara smiled at me.
"Of course you can." She answered.
"And honey, that's about as much as you can trust me..." A female voice said.
A familiar voice. I knew the voice. I should know. I've heard it night and day for the last week and a half.
We all turned in the direction of the voice, which was the only door of the warehouse, there stood Helene looking as if she could gloat.
__________________________________________________________I wrote a really short chapter today, guys. Maybe I'll update it to add more words as the week goes.
