*Seven days into Capture*
Vera's POV
I didn't think it was going to end up like this but it did. She caught all of us in the act of getting out of her trap. And she could have us pay the price tenfold.
"Cheers to you, Adam Heinzberg. You figured everything out. Everything must be in the palm of your hand." Helene said, walking in and getting close to the desk.
"Truly, I praise your...outrageous...luck. You got here and you got the girl, but..." She continued.
"You haven't vanquished the dragon..." She said, a wicked smile on her face.
Adam glared at her.
"Now...I'm going to need her back." Helene ordered.
Adam jumped in front of me.
"You're going to have to get through my cold dead body first." He growled.
Helene's expression grew blank. She blinked slowly. And let out a laugh.
"Oh honey, I didn't mean her just yet, I meant her..." She said.
Adam and I whipped our heads in the direction of Zara.
"What?" We said in unison.
Zara turned her head and smiled at us. Then walked over to Helene's right hand side.
"Gotcha." She whispered triumphantly.
