*Seven Days Into Capture*
Vera's POV
My plan had failed. We were running towards the door but we got stopped by fear. The true fear only ignited when something horrible was happening.
And that horrible happening was now because as we ran towards the door, Helene had whipped out a gun and shot Adam in the arm.
"Adam!" I shouted. I ran over to him. "Adam!" I yelled again. He fell and hit the floor.
"Ah, now I can see you..." Helene said, still aiming her gun at us.
I reached him and grabbed his upper arm, smelling the blood, and putting pressure on the wound, and cradled him in my lap.
"Adam, stay awake!" I said. "Stay awake!"
"It won't matter, Vera, might as well say your goodbyes to him." Helene told me.
"Shut up, you bitch!" I yelled at her.
Helene smirked. "It won't matter...because I'll force you to join me or I'll make sure you'll join him..." She said, the gun aimed at my head.
