*Two Days Into Capture*
Sitting behind his desk in his office gave Jordan Collier a great pleasure, what certainly did not give him pleasure was the way he could hear Adam ask the Secretary (in the office in front of his) repeatedly about going in.
Jordan smiled to himself, seeing Adam - a normally patient man squirm was sort of endearing. Like he was out of his thoughts for once.
Grabbing the black sleek phone on his desk and picking it up, pressing a single digit, Jordan called the Secretary and told her to let Adam in.
Adam, quite upset, walked in as soon as she was in the process of telling him Mr. Collier will see him now.
"So now you will see me?" He said.
Jordan held back the urge to laugh. He knew that if he laughed, Adam will be more upset.
"You know how I am, Adam." He said, gesturing for Adam to sit on the chair across from his desk.
"Yes, I know how you are." Adam retorted.
"Why don't you sit?" Jordan asked. "Do you want a cup of water? Coffee? Ophelia makes great coffee. Should I ask her?"
Jordan gestured to the Secretary outside on the computer. The pretty face behind the man with the power. Probably one Jordan has screwed to let out his stress levels on in bed. Adam didn't even turn around to look as Jordan gestured. He only stared at him.
"I want to talk about the deal." Adam said.
"So will you take the deal?" Jordan asked Adam as Adam sat on the chair across from his desk.
"I will, as long as you don't mess up your end of the bargain." Adam said.
"I promise I won't." Jordan replied.
"That is exactly what you said last time, regarding my sister." Adam retorted.
"It...It was an honest mistake, Adam, you know that." Jordan said a few moments later after feeling Adam's hurtful words cut through the middle of his soul.
"Do you?" Adam uttered, glaring at him.
Jordan's eyes fell to his desk in that split second. He knew Adam was the only one in the whole group of the 4400s that he allowed for him to talk to in that manner. Shawn would ask why but Jordan would give no answer because Shawn wasn't, no, wouldn't be ready for the truth behind Adam's behavior.
Because Jordan had done an unspeakable thing to Adam; he had let his great aunt be a part of his group of 4400s and she was soon kidnapped by a particular organization and because she refused, she was beaten until nearly dead, and even when she was sent back to the Community, the next couple of weeks of her life was spent in hospital until she died.
This was the catalyst between Jordan Collier and his uncle Adam. He had practically offered up his great aunt on a silver platter to the other organization and it was now possible Vera was kidnapped by the same organization. Which is why Adam has taken the deal with Jordan to get him what he wants and get Vera out.
"Uncle...I do." Jordan said softly.
"No you don't, if you did, she would still be here." Adam quipped.
"Don't..." Jordan protested.
"I will, because it is your fault, you knew she was abducted like us and you just didn't care. You just wanted her on your guild, your...side as I will put it." Adam said.
Jordan slumped in his chair, his hand over his eyes. He refused to look his uncle in the eye. Before it was subtle things like in Adam's behavior but now that it was just the two of them, he was outright blaming him.
