It started raining halfway while I was running away from where I knew I was destined to feel hopeless, no matter what. By that, I mean the respective home of my twin sister and my former lover. The home I know I might have been privy to having if I had not been abducted.
The abduction I have no memory of, the abduction that took place over twenty years ago, the type of abduction that most likely had Vance under suspicion, the one that soon had him looking for comfort in my sister.
Sadly, when I speak of abduction, I don't mean by normal humans. To be exact, I don't know if I was abducted by aliens or God, even if I wish it was the latter, deciding to keep me. Him thinking I cant take any of the sudden heart ache in my chest knowing if I cant age and knowing everyone has moved on and aged.
Especially now, knowing I have a little brother my age-never to know I am his sister. I doubt Holly will tell him the truth now...if I had to think of anyone who would say anything to him, it would be my father, despite me and Pa never getting along, he honestly would say something. Pa was the sort of man to knock some sense into his kids after they had done something wrong, after all, he had done it to me and Holly back then.
But would he do so now? Maybe.
For now, it is a maybe since a lot has changed since then. Right now, I want to focus on running through this cold rain, I didn't even care that I had no money, no place to stay, or any food. All I had now was my new found ability to be invisible.
Hearing the rain go on in its rhythm, I run.

By the time the rain has already gone away, I was about to drop, not out of exhaustion, but mostly because of the cramp I had developed from walking earlier from the amusement park. The wet grass provided me a good comfortable but mushy seat. When I was good and ready, I got up and brushed off the wet dirt and ambled off to another direction.
Just as I walked along the side of the road, I noticed a gated community of a sort up ahead. Suddenly wanting shelter, I kept walking up to the gated community. In some way, I was hoping someone would show up and let me in.
In fact, the community reminded me of this one guy I heard of...Jordan Collier or something similar like that. Supposedly, the guy had came back in the ball of light like I did and he was homing those of us for whatever reason(s) they gave to him. From what I knew, it didn't have to be a real good reason...
I wondered if I would have to show him my ability for me to be welcomed in. I had a feeling he wouldn't let me in just for looks, even though I was above the age of legality, two years above, to be exact. I was halfway up the pave-way, when all of a sudden out of nowhere, a very tall dark skinned man in a suit asked me where I was going.
"I want to go here," I said, pointing to the gated community.
"You can't, ma'am. This is private property." He said.
I made an I-don't-care-look and promptly started walking up to it.
"Stop!" I heard the man shout.
I didn't.
That was when I turned and saw that the man had gotten out a gun, he was pointing it at me,having apparently gotten it from his holster under the suit.
.........................................................................................................................................
The adrenaline running through my veins, the cold rain from earlier soaking through my clothes and into my bones, my sharp intake of breath did nothing to the man, a good ten feet from me, his hands around a shiny gun.
