_________Abigail's POV________

Nate is watching my again. A shiver runs down my spine, that man disturbs me; I should kill him first. I glance to my left, and to my right, taking note of the other contestants. I suppress a laugh, "seasoned killers"? I think not. These idiots don't know the first thing about death and suffering. I on the other hand, have withstood months of torture at the PVC super prison. I've been injected with so many poisons that I'm now immune to any toxin. I've gone so long without food that I don't even feel hunger pains anymore. I've lived off of frozen bread and captured rats for so long that my taste buds have literally lost all the ability to taste. In short, none of these other contenders could possibly even phase me. None except for-
"Hello my dear, we meet again" Matthew grins at me from over the top of his book. He is the only viable threat in this room. He thwarted my assassination attempt. He's good. I act nonchalant, pretending that this man didn't sentence me to a living hell for two years.
"Hello Matthew, I wish I could say it's a pleasure to see you again, but frankly, it isn't." He chuckles, gliding to my side.
"Well, you haven't lost any of your spite." I shove him away from me
"Go to hell!" I spit in his face. He gives me his trademark perfect smile.
"My dear, look around you, we're already here." He pauses, looking as though he was searching for the right words. "Look," he starts, hesitantly, "the best chance we have is to work together. I don't care what the others say about Zeth, you're the most formidable combatant in this room and I don't care what they say about the "genius" of Nate. I'm the smartest one here. Together, you and I could win this." I consider his offer, then I look him straight in the eyes.
"What happens when we're the last two left?" He flashes another perfect grin,
"That my dear, is when things get interesting." He pats my back and turns on his heel. "Think about what I've said Abby, I know you'll make the right choice."
