Jeff's P.O.V.
I looked at Iris. "So what do I do?" I asked.
"Simple. Let her down easy. I know she's crazy, but let's worry about that later." she answered.
"Okay, at the meeting house tonight, I'll pull her aside and tell her it won't work out. This'll be easy... Right?" I asked.
"Yeah... I'll wait for you." I wasn't so sure she really meant that.
She and I stood up and went into the kitchen. "Hey, want anything? I can make anything for you, Iris... Anything you want..." She gave me a strange look.
"Nah, I'm pretty good. Maybe something small... A half of a sand which, a few berries, yogurt, something little." I nodded and went into the fridge.
"Uh... We have some key-lime pie yogurt. I like it. You want it?" I asked.
"Sure, sounds good." I handed her the yogurt and gave here a spoon.
I stared at her for a long time as she ate yogurt.
"So... What was your life like when you lived at your place...?" I asked.
"Uh... I had a nice life. A good little brother, two parents, nice sized house, pretty good. School life was okay too. I had decent grades, no one picked on me, I had a friend, I was in glee club-"
I interrupted her. "Who was your friend?" I asked.
"His name was Zachary. He and I became friends at the beginning of last year. We were pretty close." she answered, eating another spoonful of yogurt.
"He probably misses you." I said. She rolled her eyes.
"He better! I've gone through hell and back for that asshole!" she screamed.
"Woah! Calm down! What're you so pissed about?" I asked.
"It's just... Nothing you would understand. You're a guy." She turned away. Woah, what's with the sudden misandry? Did she just turn into a tumblr feminist or something?
We sat in silence for a while. I noticed how the light from the window gleamed on her delicate face. Why was it that I only thought of this sort of thing when it comes to her.
A voice in my head kept screaming "Do it, man! Don't be a fool, just go for it! Tell her how you think she's the best, funniest, feistiest, prettiest girl out there." I didn't. I just stared at her.
"Hey, creep. Cut that the fuck out!" she snapped.
"Oh god! Sorry, Iris... You know, no eyelids..."
I felt like just grabbing her and kissing her, not giving her any choice in the matter. But that's not what good boyfriends do.
There was a knock at the door. "Lemme guess, that's Skully?" I asked. "Heheh... Yeah. I'll get rid of her. Trust me. Don't answer the door, and when I tell you to, cover your eyes." Iris walked away. There were a few more knocks on the door.
"Jeff, cover your eyes! And hide yourself!" Iris snapped. I did so, but peeked through my fingers. Iris was bare naked, wrapped in a sheet. She opened the door.
"Hey, Skully." she said.
"Uh... Why are you wrapped in a sheet?" Skully asked in a shaky voive.
"Oh... Let's just say Jeff and I are busy right now." My mouth dropped and Skully stood frozen.
"W-what?!"
Iris nodded. It was official, Iris was the single coolest girl. Ever.
"We'll see you later." She turned and shut the door. "I'm a badass, it's official!" she giggled.
