After an impromptu jam session at Matt's, Zacky managed to talk Vix into helping him grocery shop for the necessary New Year's party supplies that Johnny had assigned him.  Not that he needed to encourage her much but he made the trip to Whole Foods sound kind of exotic and she was game. Frankly at this point, he could convince her that a trip to McDonald's was a good time as long as they were together.

Vix knew Whole Foods was one of those stores sold natural and organic foods to people who could afford it. The kind of place that probably had a killer deli and a kick ass bakery. The kind that Vix generally avoided if she was shopping on her own dime. And one she'd normally give him shit about if she hadn't been trying to keep her feelings in check.

He seemed to notice the difference in her personality but didn't know how to bring it up. Instead they grabbed a cart and hit the beer aisle first. She watched as Zacky loaded up on some of the fancier local brews, beers Vix had never even heard of. He grabbed bags of blue chips and organic salsa. He bought crackers and three kinds of cheese along with some meats to go with them. She examined the prices and rolled her eyes at the exorbitant amounts and he seemed to be waiting for her to jab at him but she didn't.

"Do you know how to make nachos?" he asked as she steered the cart toward the dairy aisle.

"Hmm...no," she replied quickly, not really wanting to spend New Year's Eve cooking.

"Aww c'mon Vix. It can't be that hard," he replied with an arch of his eyebrow.

"Then you do it," she retorted with a chuckle.

"I tried it once," he said grabbing a container of sour cream and a gallon of milk into the cart. "And I burned my hand and couldn't play my guitar for a week."

"Poor baby," she cooed sarcastically eliciting a genuine grin from him. She could hear her heart pounding in her ears from the effect.

"No seriously....I couldn't play for weeks in 2007 and I'm pretty sure that's why I didn't win the Guitar God award award that year."

She shook her head. "Really? That's the reason you didn't win?"

He nodded as he grabbed a few bags of shredded cheese "I'm absolutely 100% percent sure. Look you won't even have to grate the cheese."

"Zacky, Velveeta is much better for nachos than that stuff," she replied absently.

"A-HA!" he said excitedly jumping a bit "You lied! You do know how to make nachos."

She couldn't help but laugh but before she could respond, she was interrupted.

"Hello Zacky."

He looked over his shoulder at the small blonde woman behind them. His smile fell. "Meaghan."

Oh shit...it's Number 2, Vix thought to herself. She kept her expression neutral but it was hard.

"How are you doing?" she asked.

Number 2 had platinum blond hair and warm light brown eyes. She was really pretty...or adorable. She was adorable. She was stressed in a cute black short set and ballet flats. He hair was pulled up in a neat ponytail. Vix tried not to compare herself to the gorgeous creature in front of her but she couldn't help but feel frumpy in her yoga pants and Vengeance University tee.

If Zacky was upset to see his wife, he didn't let on. He kept his expression blank as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm good."

"You look good," Meaghan said with a hint of a smile. Damn, Vix thought, even her teeth were perfect.

"Yeah?" Zacky asked with a hint of sarcasm. "No thanks to you. Seeing as you were so busy screwing around with that fucking model guy. He still around?"
