For the rest of the morning Castle and I felt closer than ever. I told him everything I knew about the new case. I had recently discovered that the victim, Ivy Ford, was studying to become a teacher, for a school called New Leaf Elementary. She was going to start next week. I then sent Espo and Ryan to go talk to the teachers and staff and figure out if anything weird was going on with her. I then called in her family. They said they were in their way about ten minutes ago. Part of me was getting impatient but that all went away when I heard the elevator open, and saw the family walk in. I got up and greeted them, we then made our way to the break room  and sat down ready to begin conversation.

"I'm very sorry about your loss Mr. and Mrs. Ford." I stated trying to break the ice.

"We just miss her so much." Mrs. Ford said gladly accept in a tissue from their other daughter Chloë Ford.

"It has been really rough for us lately without the wonderful sensation of our daughter," Mr.Ford began, "she really made everyone's lives better."

"I understand," I said weaving my way back into the conversation, but do you knew go anyone who would want to hurt your daughter? Any enemies that really made themselves known?" I questioned but reviewed a shake of no from both parents, followed by an everyone loves her statement. Although Chloë was rather awkwardly quiet. I'll make a note to talk to her afterwards.

I continued the painful conversation with the family until it was evident that no one knew who killed Ivy. According to them, she had no boyfriend, no jealous piers, no enemies, and no problems that they didn't know about.

"Thank you for your help." I said standing and shaking each of their hands.

"We're all counting on you to bring our daughter justice." Mr. Ford said, which was kind of a slight stab to the heart. I would do everything in my power to bring their daughter justice.

"But! Before you leave Mr. and Mrs. Ford would you like some water, you both look like you need some." I was trying to get Chloë and I alone.

"Well we couldn't turn that down," Mrs. Ford said, "Chloë stay out of trouble while we're gone."

"Castle can you get them the water?"

"Yeah, of course!" He replied in his giddy way gesturing the parents to the water.

I then observed Chloë sit down and fidget with her fingers. I slowly walked over and sat in front of her.

"Chloë, earlier today I asked your parents if you knew of any enemies your sister had, they said no, but you know something else, don't you?"

"I know nothing." Chloë stated looking away from me.

"How old are you?"

"14."

"You smell like alcohol. Do you really want me to tell your parents that you were out drinking with your friends while your a minor."

"You wouldn't."

"You just justified my answer. And yes I would. You could go to jail. But if you tell me what you know about Ivy, I might be persuaded to pretend I know nothing."

"Fine. Ivy would get home at all hours of the night. She thought that she was so smart thinking everyone was asleep. Well I wasn't. Maybe our parents thought that she was actually studying to be a teacher, but she was lying. She had another agenda. Instead she was out playing hooky. She had a boyfriend."

"How do you know?"

"Because I eavesdrop. And let me tell you, she was into some heavy stuff."

"Like what?"
