Chapter 27: Waiting

"Rick!" Kate said obviously startled at his appearance, "How much of that did you hear?"

Rick's face lacked emotion and his eyes were a groggy grey, "We need to talk." He stated plain and dry. Kate wasn't in the mood for this conversation but she couldn't put it off any longer. She gently nodded and followed him outside and into the hall, closing Delia's door behind her.

When the two reached a more secluded area Rick began, "I don't want to yell, but I might anyways. What the hell just happened?" His voice was actually calm but his rage was building up inside.

"What did you hear?" Kate almost whispered back her voice weak and weary.

"I came to apologize to you for the way I acted, and when I came up to the door I- I heard you and Cordelia talking about how you would've been a great mother, and then you both agreed that Jojo would've thought so to. Who in the world is Jojo?"

"Um- Jojo is- Jojo is my daughter."

Kate expected Rick to burst into flames and break up with her screaming and cursing at her, but right now all her did was turn around and run his fingers through his hair. When he was completely facing the other wall he let his flame burst. Out of anger he punched the wall and said, "What the hell Kate, why? Why would you keep that from me!"

Kate was scared. She knew Rick wouldn't hurt her but right now she was kind of doubtful, she started to cry, "Castle I'm sorry, I'm so-so sorry."

"That's not enough! Out of everything we've been through you keep this from me! Why! I just don't understand!"

"Rick you need to calm down." Beckett mentioned taking a step closer. With that step Rick backed up even more.

"No, I don't want to hurt you!"

"You won't."

"Yes I will, you need to go! I need time to think this over."

"No- please don't leave me!"

"I can't- I can't handle this! Go! Now!"

Kate ran up to him and hugged him, Rick retaliated with a violent shove backwards. Kate hit the wall and looked at Rick, scared for her life. Usually after a moment like this Rick would apologize but he didn't he turned and left himself. Running for the elevator.

"Castle! Wait!" Kate screamed after him, "please!"

Rick didn't turn around, not once he didn't want to deal with Kate. He was stunned by this new discovery.

When Rick reached his loft he made sure no one else was there before he screamed, just screamed. He grabbed a beer from his fridge and locked the door, seclusion himself in his office. He needed to be alone, and if that meant leaving Kate then, he actually might.

He finished a six pack of beer and passed out. He fell of his desk chair and to the floor. Out like a light. Anyone who would enter the loft, would assume it empty and leave. Maybe that was best.

Kate cried her eyes out. Calling Rick, texting him, leaving him countless voice mails. He wasn't answering. But she couldn't blame him. If she just would've told him when the beg first got together this whole ordeal could be avoided. She hated herself. She knew that Rick also needed time so she left without even telling Cordelia goodbye. Her shoulders and back hurt from the shove but she knew that he was just angry. She hoped it wouldn't happen again.

She drove to a bar and just sat there. Not ordering any drinks not playing any pool, just thinking, thinking of how she could explain everything to Rick. She would call him a few more times and if he didn't answer then she would go to the loft.

Of course he didn't answer which began to slowly worry her. What if he did something awful. What if he's in trouble? She ran out of the bar and sped off to the loft.

When she arrived she was already in tears. She pounded on the door begging to be let in. He didn't answer but she was reluctant, she wouldn't stop. She was crying out and pleading. Rick wasn't answering. She knew he was here because she saw his car in the parking garage. The reason she hadn't used her key was because she left them keys in the room with Cordelia. Kate kicked into cop mode and kicked down the door sending the hinges flying.

"Rick!" She cried, "Where are you!"

Silence...

"Castle please! I need to know if you're ok!"

She ran up the stairs and back down, through the kitchen and checked the living room checked the bedroom, and the bathroom, lastly was his office. She entered in through the living room and saw nothing. She scanned the floor of many empty beer bottles.

"Oh God! Rick where the hell are you!"

As she counted six bottle she saw a foot sticking out from behind the desk.

"Castle!" She yelled. She sped around and saw Rick passed out cold. She cupped his cheeks and cried even harder.

"What have you done!"

She laid down next to him and cried until she too passed out.

She heard a distant moaning and groaning and her eyes popped open. There may Rick waking up. She was happy he was waking up. When his eyes slowly opened the first thing he saw was Kate. His face turned cold and he sat up removing Kate from him.

"I'm so glad you're ok." She said.

He didn't respond he stumbled up and walked into the kitchen. Kate stood and ran after him.

"Please don't ignore me."

Silence...

He walked to the fridge and grabbed and water bottle then sat down at his kitchen island. Kate went over to the other side and looked him in the eye.

"Can we please just talk about this? You can't stay mad at me forever."

He turned his head away from her and when tears came out of her eyes she was surprised that there was even water left in her body.

She sat down next to him and cupped his cheeks, now he couldnt look away.

"Ok-may- maybe you can stay mad at me forever but we at least need to talk. I can't let you leave me with you not telling me how you feel.

Rick stood up and paced the floor.

He then stopped, "I'm not going to lie and say I'm not mad, because I am, I'm furious. I just can't comprehend the fact that you would keep something this big from me, situations like this end relationships for good, and there's no backspace to reverse it. Why I'm genuinely mad is because after I told you that I'll accept everything about you, that you still neglected to tell me this." He looked down and took a deep breathe...

SO HOWDY FOLKS! THIS WAS INTENSE! I CANT WAIT TO UPDATE AGAIN EEEEEEEEEKKKK! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO FUCKING MUCH I REALLY LOVE THIS STORY!
